Manuel Andres Velez Velez
Hi everyone, I tried everything and I can't install Snow Leopard in my laptop! I tried with some distros like iAtkos, iPC etc. In my last try I used Empire Efi for AMD (Legacy Boot) + retail... but i get kernel panics! Usually it stucks in: Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\".\n"@/Extra/builds/xnu/xnu-1456.1.26/iokit/Kernel/IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1393. I tried with -x cpus=1 busratio=19,20,21 but it don't works! Can anybody help me? jakealley26
Take a look at this. http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/os-x-operating-system/181506-kernel-panic-wont-boot-os.html There are two suggestions. One is that ACPI has something to do with power managements. The other one that seemed to work is fiddle with system memory.
PookyMacMan
Check out the guide in my signature. That uses the OSx86 ModCD, which is now recommended by Prasys (the creator of EmpireEFI).
Manuel Andres Velez Velez
Ok, I try with nawcom but this is what I get after "darwin x86 press any key to continue..."... it remains also with -x screencapture:
PookyMacMan
Is this actually a retail DVD or a distro? The ModCD only works with retail discs (bought or downloaded), not any distro (like iAtkos, Hazard etc.)
Manuel Andres Velez Velez
Yes, it's an Original Retail DVD of snow leopard. I also tried Retail USB stick created in a original mac from Snow Leopard Thumb drive... same error Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance
PookyMacMan
I think you may need a different kernel. I'll look one up and post it here with instructions.

betam4x
try doing what it says for modcd. Type rd(0,0)/Extra/legacy_kernel or whatever it says (can't remember off hand). If it still gives you problems, type that again and append -force64 to the end.
