Hi
on the first partition is osx and on the last the osx backup. Now I wonder what happens if I split the partition in between to make room for another os (pear os)?
Will I still be able to boot the backup?
Thanks

Splitting a partition should not mess with the boot sector.

If you're unsure, make your own Chameleon boot CD or USB stick first, if something goes wrong you can boot with that. it doesn't have to be perfect, just enough to let you boot and fix things.
