closetmonkey
After a little rough start, I finally got Lion 10.7.2 installed and got it online (although not with the wireless card I had hoped - had to go through ethernet, but oh well.....). Coming to you from my new Lion now.... So now my only major remaining issue is sound. I have an Asus Sabertooth X58 motherboard with onboard Realtek ALC892 using the green line out to my 2 desktop speakers. I installed with ##### and Lion 10.7.2, then used ##### to do a user DSDT install. Then I used ##### to install ALC8xxHDA and AppleHDA Rollback kexts. Now I have a volume control in my menu bar, so it's clearly seeing the audio device. However, when I open sound preferences there is only "Headphones" and "Digital Out" for output options - no line out, and no sound. Is there a way to get this driver to do line out? I've changed my BIOS from HD mode to AC97 mode, and nothing seems to be working.

TheAppleFreak
I'm running on a GA-X58-USB3, 10.7.2, installed via ##### and everything else working through #####/GTX 5xx Enabler, but the ALC892 driver isn't working for me. I tried using the ##### audio kexts, with and without the DSDT enablers, yet it didn't work. Does anyone know whether I'll have any success with VoodooHDA? I tried installing it last night through ##### but I had a kernel panic halfway through and now the install won't power on. rcork
I have an Asus P8Z68-V as well and I use a binpatched AppleHDA.kext that has a modified Platform.xml and layout892.xml. The ones in ##### worked as well but i needed to send audio over HDMi via my ATI 6850 and therefore couldn't use the rollback as it didn't support audio over HDMI. I don't remember where i found this one so i put it in my dropbox. The link is below. As always, make sure you install the kext using Kext Wizard or some other tool if you're not familiar with changing the owner:group and file permissions. If this doesn't work for you, post your DSDT so i can see if it's setup correctly for audio http://bit.ly/z3EkmR
rcork
This is also helpful if you have an ALC892 http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=266531&view=findpost&p=1752351
Vandamsel
I had a problem like this with my on-board audio (ALC892). It worked fine until I updated to 10.7.2, and then my audio went bye-bye, no matter what I tried. I did a fresh install and ran #####, but didn't select any audio options, just ##### and such. I then installed the 10.7.2 combo update and rebooted, only then did I use ##### to install my audio: System Utilities > Repair Permissions Drivers & Bootloaders > Kexts & Enablers > Audio > ALC8xx > ALC8xxHDA Drivers & Bootloaders > Kexts & Enablers > Audio > ALC8xx > AppleHDA Rollback Drivers & Bootloaders > Kexts & Enablers > Audio > ALC8xx > Non-DSDT HDAEnabler > ALC892 Now it's all working fine
