Dear colleagues,

I own at home a old Pentium4 Dell GX280, but updated with 3,6 Ghz P4 + 4Gb RAM, I’ve tryied some of the distros around internet to transform it into a Hackintosh, and finally, I managed to install Iatkos S3 V2, based on Snow leopard 10.6.3 version. I had several troubles with the in-built network adapter (Broadcom), and with the USB connectors.

The hack has been done, and I’ve updated to 10.6.6 version running stable, graphics acceleration is full enabled with the Intel GMA900 onboard, and everything appears to be fine, but I’ve found 2 issues, first of all less important but little annoying, is after install the kext for the network adapter, that the computer does not restart or shuts down, because just when the hd is released and the computer should shut down, it hangs on and does not disconnect …. Any suggestion regarding this???

Second issue that I have, is USB 2.0 problem, this causes me headaches … since sometimes on the system profile it says High speed USB, with the plugged Kingston flash drive informed with speed “up to 480 Mbs”, but sometimes it only appears as “12 Mbs”, and then the transfers are very low…. It’s said that with kernel 10.6.3, some usb problems could happen, it seems that the solution would be using ##### from Tonymac, trying to roll back the USB kext to previous versions that allow High speed work out, but I installed ##### 3.9.1 and it happens what I explained, the usbs works sometimes in 2.0 mode, and sometimes on 1.1 mode …

Any chance to find a solution for this, at least for the second issue related on USB speed transfers ???

Thanks in advance guys, u rock!

What model Intel chipset does your motherboard have?

Do your USB ports show as built in or external in System Profiler?

Read: http://www.insanelym...howtopic=168014 especially the part about 'errata'.

Much in the same vein, If you have an issue with your network hardware and the driver for it you might want to post what make and model it is.

Nobody will help you if they have to google "Dell GX280" first. Please understand that it's very hard to help you without knowing what hardware you are talking about. Make it easy to help you.
