Hi! Reading this forum I have got install Snow Leopard into my PC (Hazard 10.6.6).

Now I want use it to Lightroom 3. I want dual display but I dont know how to get it.

I have two PCI-Express cards available:

  • nVidia GeForce 9500GS (HDMI, VGA and DVI ports)
  • ATI X300 SE (VGA, SVIDEO and DVI ports)

I also have the integrated graphic card (S3 UniChrome Pro 2D/3D) of my motherboard (ECS EliteGroup P4m890t-m2). My processor is a Dual Core 2 6300 (1.86GHz).

I want only two displays.

My first tests, if i connect one display to VGA port and the other display to DVI port:

  • with the nVidia only have image on one of them, the first connected.
  • with the ATI I always have mirrored image in both displays.

I not using any kext for the cards.

In Preferences => Display only detects one display in both cases.

Is posible to get dual display (not mirrored) in Mac with only one of this cards (I only have one PCI-e slot)?

What is the best card to get dual display (extended, not mirror mode)? How?

A lot of thanks for your help

I have get this working with my Geforce 9500GS and this post.

Basically:

  1. Copy NVEnabler64.kext into /System/Library/Extensions
  2. Edit Info.plist of NVDAResman.kext to add my Device ID (0x0644)
  3. Edit Info.plist of NVDANV50Hal.kext to add my Device ID (0x0644)
  4. Repair permissions
  5. Reboot

All done!

Now I have dual display (nor mirrored) with my nVidia Geforce 9500GS
