Hello all,

This is my 1st post!

I have a Acer Travelmate 250, it's a pentium 4 with 2GB of RAM and i'd like to try Hackintosh on it.

I used to be a microsoft junior sysadmin, but i'm fed up with windows (7, no thank you!) and now i'm using Linux Mint.

On the Mac side, i am an absolute noob, but well, it's all just about learning.

For what i have been looking, i've checked the HCL and version 10.4.4 seems to be compatible with my Acer.

I will have my hands on a 10.4.4 unpatched DVD soon.

I have found a post with info here:

http://www.insanelym...?showtopic=9415

On the bottom of the page, there is a startup file tool. I've downloaded it. (i don't now what to do with it yet).

So my doubts are:

1) Do i have to stick to version 10.4.4 or would it work with some more recent version?

2) The boot:

On the above link, it instructs to boot 10.4.3. I don't have it!

Also, since my DVD is an unpatched version, so i am assuming it woun't boot straight up.

These are rather old versions...

Is there a way to patch this DVD or any other way to make it bootable and compatible with my laptop?

3) Any help to get me started and through it, i would really apreciate...

Thank you for your help,

Bruno
