Which Lion version ?

 

if I got you correctly, you are able to boot using a booting CD but not your HDD. I see from the pic is that the next step is the graphical interface which is stuck.

 

So, I guess the boot loader on your HDD can't initiate the GPU (plz state the type and device ID if possible).

 

Check which boot loader is installed on the CD (after boothing with the CD type "bdmesg" in terminal and check the 1st line) then try to install this boot loader on your HDD and try again.

Have you tried having a look in the preboot.dmg on the boot disk to see what is actually on there? You might find a a kext/efi string that is causing the GUI to load when booting that you are missing on your internal HDD.

It could be as simple as booting with GraphicsEnabler=yes.

same problam comes to me when i was installing lion 10.7 i was using usb mathod i just copy ntfs.kexts from my snow leopard 10.6.8 to lion s\l\e and it start working
