Read up on all the stuff on trusted computing/TPM etc. It will give you a good idea on what Rosetta and it's counrerparts are all about.

I know IPB has a "Welcome Letter" hack so when you register, you get a PM with all the goodies and links.

Rosetta is a powerpc-to-intel dynamic translator. In english, this is a thing that will allow you to run old applications on an Intel mac before the author has a chance to port them over.
