Random crashes (even at idle) and system crashes every time I watch youtube.

ahhh its atheros lan and different alc audio chipset.

 

might want to use vodoohda 2.7.2 or 2.7.3

 

im local to you coool ( if u need in person help im available)

 

 

My networking don't work unless I boot from bootloader. Everything else works just like a Mac. Been trying to figure that out for a week now :/

u need smbios.plist revised probably missing some info in it

get macpro31 extra folder here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t=0&start=0

 

u have dsdt in use ?

none. i worked for a few (dell <stream> ,ibm, brighthouse.. but im independent pc tech. (a few pc shops know me around here.. tampa bay laptops, computer junkyard and a few other smaller ones)

 

get dsdt editor and extract dsdt and zip it. post it here

Cool, thanks.

 

BTW, after installing AppleHDADisabler.kext, it took 5 hours of playing youtube, VLC, Safari, Chrome, Mail before it crashed. Before, it would crash in <5min

 

EDIT:

 

If this helps, here are steps performed by me.

 

G31M-ES2L-FH and EN8400GS and 4GB DDR2-800

 

Only 4GB RAM during installation, 1 monitor, 1 HDD during installation.

 

Boot PC from Boot loader CD, Run OSX install DMG or CD.

 

Format HDD to GUID scheme, then run installation.

 

Hit "Customize" when selecting HDD, install minimal (for fast install).

 

Forced reboot, leave boot loader CD in.

 

Run 10.6.8 combo update (DO NOT REBOOT)

Install NVIDIA retail Drivers (Reboot w/o CD)

I tried to install OSX 5-6 times (different ways) with this set up, and that is the only way i could do it and have full resolution. If you could correct my steps, It would be great.

 

atheros attansic is listed as my NIC in OSx86tools

that video isnt 100% properly supported. but works with info.plist adding. id recomend a 9500gt at least or 9800gt

 

the likely way to fix it is with GraphicsEnabler=Yes .. but older chameleon didnt have that device id added.

 

i have a friend that has the g41m-es2L with 9500 gt and he dont care for osx .. he might trade video card with 20$.

 

dsdt is prety much done. just looking over it comparing it to mine as theyre almost same

 

btw osx86tools is way obsolete and had a few bugs. (where did u find steps to use it ? likely from 2009)

So is "enabling Quartz GL" with OSX86Tools. Quartz GL is already enabled for software that is coded to use it. There is no benefit to enabling it for everything.

Im not even sure, I read 20+ write ups and just put 2 systems together. This one with 8400GS that keeps crashing and one at home with 9800GT that can only do 1 monitor and has ridiculously quiet volume level.

I replaced the smbios.plist, but still no networking unless i boot from CD.

 

I found atheros attansic L1 and L2 lan driver. but no luck with networking yet again.
