Sleep and kernel panic issue on Asus P8P67 LE

Hi All,

I have the following setup:

- Asus P8P67 LE motherboard

- Intel Core i7 2600 CPU

- 16GB Kingston DDR3 1333 RAM

- nVidia GTX560 Ti 1GB GDDR5 VGA

- Kingston V100+ 96GB SSD

I could install Lion 10.7.2 successfully. I could even enable TRIM function for the SSD and Open CL for the VGA. I could also solve the shutdown proble (the machine power on after 3 seconds after shut down).

I have the following issues:

- Sleep doesn't work. The display and HDDs turn off but the machine remain in 'on' state. The coolers are running on full speed. Do I need a DSDT? Could anybody give one for me? Does anybody know the solution for this issue?

- The OS 'drop' Kernel Panic sometimes, but I don't know why. Any suggestion? How can this problem solved?

Does anybody have a working installation with a similar configuration?

Thank for your help.

Hi All,

It seems I finally could solve the Kernel Panic issue. It caused by the RTL8169 ethernet driver. I have installed the latest driver for it from here: http://lnx2mac.blogspot.com/p/realtekrtl81xx-osx-driver.html

And the KP issue has gone.

Unfortunately I don't have any luck with the sleep problem.

Does anyone can help me? Does anyone can make sleep work on this motherboard?

Hi LatinMcG,

I know the USB3 issue. I have already removed the USB driver and it solved my earlier shutdown issue, but it was irrelevant from the point of view of sleep.

I think I need a SleepEnabler.kext, but unfortunately I cannot find a good version. I found a version for 10.7.2, but it is not the best for my motherboard, because the machine went to sleep, but I couldn't wake it up, it restarted repeatedly.

Does anyone have a good SleepEnabler for Asus P8P67 LE and 10.7.2?
