First of all I would like to say thanks to a member poopmonkey. Though he didnt directly help me, by reading alot of his topics I was able to determine what needed to be done to install OSX on this laptop. I will number this in steps. Enjoy, and don't forget to thank me if it worked. Also I'm going to assume you are using windows before proceeding. Step 1: Get yourself a copy of "iDeneb_v1.6_1058_Lite_Edition". Burn the iso with imgburn ( nice free program for windows, burn it nice and slow ( 4x is a great speed ). Ideneb should be available at your favorite sites. Step 2: After burning the iso. pop it into your 5600, boot from cd, NO NEED TO BOOT INTO ADVANCE OPTIONS. Let it load everything it needs to and eventually you will get into the installation screen ( this should take less than 10 mins ) Step 3:Open up Disk Utility and format your hard drive as GUID, 1 partion, mac os x extended journaled. Name the partition something nice and easy ( I called mine "leopard" ). let it format and continue Step 4: Hit install, agree, etc etc, pick the hard drive we just formatted. MAKE SURE YOU HIT CUSTOMIZE and make sure only these are ticked: -iDeneb main system -Bootloader>chameleon v2 ***-Kernal> 9.8.0 vanilla *( only pick this if previous install wont let you boot up, if no problems booting leave unticked -Essential patches: >apple decrypt >disabler >dsdt patcher >time machine fix >open halt restart - ps/2 > voodoo ps2 trackpad >about this mac fix >system profiler fix -Drivers>audio>voodoo HDA ***-Drivers>chipset>AHCI SATA/IDE *( only pick this if previous install wont let you boot up, if no problems booting leave unticked -Drivers>system management>voodoo battery manager -Drivers>video>intel>GMA950> 950 Laptop -Clean up Step 5: once it finishes installing and boots up, boot with flag " cpus=1 " and proceed with the welcome screen, etc etc etc. Step 6: *Credit goes to poopmonkey here* Find yourself a link to downlaod bbedit for leopard. Edit your com.apple.Boot.plist which is located in Library>Preferences>SystemConfiguration. You should see something that looks like this: <dict> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string></string> <key>Boot Graphics</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Quiet Boot</key> <string>No</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> </dict> </plist> Edit the space between <string></string> by adding idlehalt=0. it should look like this after: <dict> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>idlehalt=0</string> <key>Boot Graphics</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Quiet Boot</key> <string>No</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> </dict> </plist> * Note: that if your missing some parts of that code ITS OKAY. I didnt have part of it, but i still edited what I needed. * Note: You can now take the time to shorten how long it takes chameleon to load by editing this: <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> change the 5 to however many seconds you want. Step 7: Plug it into ethernet, hit apple software update, and update everything you can ( might take two reboots). You're Finished!!!
