Phil511 Posted November 2, 2011 Share Posted November 2, 2011 I need help to solve the time setting issue. I have 2 HDD in a desktop PC. One has Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and one has Mac OSX 10.7.2 upgraded from 10.6.8. Every time I use Mac for either half an hour or half-a day, I re-started and over to Windows in the other primary HDD. When Windows started, the time setting is changed to 4 hours ahead of US East Coast time. Anyone knows a way to fix this? Please advise. Thanks. If you set one correct, the other will be 5-7 hours off, and vice versa. There was a fix thread I found but the links are long broken. I'd suggest set it correct on the OS you use the most. I set it for Windows but the one that isd performing correct in terms of time is Mac. Time setting for Windows is the problem. Riley Freeman Posted November 3, 2011 Share Posted November 3, 2011 In Windows, paste the following text into a file called timefix.reg and double-click it to add it to the registry. It will set the Windows clock to use UTC, the same format as OS X. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation] "RealTimeIsUniversal"=dword:00000001 When you boot back into OS X, make sure the clock is right (using the online time server). Now when you boot back into Windows the time will stay correct. This fix should work from Vista SP1 onwards. It's what I use here with 7 x64.
