i cant get any encrypted(commercial) DVDs to run. all my burned dvds run flawless. i have a TDK dvdrw+- on a 915g chipset. anyone have any success running encryted dvds. please post your success stories or advice. it would be nice to figure this out? ive searched the forum but no solution for those have this problem. i flashed my dvd player to region free yesterday. even before i did that i still couldnt play encrypted dvds on osx86. i have tried vlc, mplayer, osx86 compiled. i have done a fresh install from patched dvd. NO SUCCESS. also.. why does the deadmoo image have the default "DVD Player" app, but the patched install DVD doesnt have it? did deadmoo(curtis,lol) add this app on his own? it crashes on open in deadmoo version.

mod, does this belongs in hardware section?

What I have read here is that osx86 doesn't allow raw DVD access, which is needed for decrypting DVDs.

You can also try to copy the VIDEO_TS folder to your home directory...only unencrypted files will be copied...the other ones will be created empty...

For unencrypted on opening the VIDEO_TS folder option works....not raw disk access...

As companies would say: It's not a bug, it's a feature (o;
