Hi Guys,

After reading quite a lot of guides, I thought I'd give this a crack on a couple of the laptops I own, but am getting next to nowhere

As seems to be the norm, I'll start by listing as much of my computer's specs as possible:

Model: Dell Latitude E5500

RAM: 3GB

CPU: Intel Core2 Duo T7250 @ 2.00ghz

HDD: WD SATA 80GB (Model: MHZ2080BH G2)

GPU: Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family

DVD Drive: HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GT10N ATA Device

LAN Card: Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller

WiFi Card: Intel® WiFi Link 5100 AGN

These are the initial steps I followed:

Burned ##### 3.2.0 to single-layer DVD using MagicISO

Turned on ACHI mode in the BIOS, but didn't adjust anything else, as it was already set to boot from cd/dvd first, and I'm not sure that anything else needs to be changed? (I'll try and screenshot all BIOS screens in a few minutes)

Inserted ##### dvd, turned laptop on and waited for ##### to load

Once I had the "#####" disk icon on screen, I ejected the ##### disk, stuck in my Leopard disk and waited for it to spin up - then pressed F5

Made sure the Leopard disk was selected and pressed enter

I then get a black screen with the error

can't find mach_kernel

I can press enter at this point, and it returns to the ##### "select your boot device icon thingy" screen.

Initially I thought I'd got myself a dodgy burn of #####, so tried another copy using Nero, burned with a different laptop, but got the same result.

I then tried "##### legacy", which got me a BIT further (i think).

Following the same steps as above with the legacy disk, produces the following error:

unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\".

From there, I started searching in and around these forums for things to try.

The boot switches (things you enter at the ##### screen) I tried were as follows:

 • PCIRootUID=1
 • PCIRootUID=1 -x
 • -x
 • acpi=off
 • ACPI=off

All of which produced the same results each and every time.

I then went on to try booting with the "OSX ModCD", which produced the same results as the ##### Legacy disk...

Here's a photo of the panic:

And here's a few of the BIOS:

Anyone have any clues as to what I'm doing wrong - or what I need to change to get a bit further?

Cheers in advance :thumbsup_anim:

brilliant - I'll try the latest BIOS and see what's what :P

Yeah :/ I've read about the gfx card... it'll still "work" tho won't it, I just wont get decent performance from it?

(ps- thanks for the reply!)
