PookyMacMan.....here is what I am running......Model: HP Pavilion DV7-6143CL.....running 10.8.2 only 2 things are not working, 1. wifi, 2. usb 3.0........have anyone gotten this to work on this model or do you know how to get this to work on this model.....please let mr know

Hi there!
I'm trying to boot SL post-install. I tried booting using legacy_kernel and "arch=i386 busratio=18 -force64". I get the following KP. What am I still doing wrong?

Thank you for this guide it has been helpful in getting the process started on installing SL however I have a small issue and wondering if I could get some assistance

This is the problem that I am having (below)

for some reason the installer on the SL 10.6.3 disc will hang here and will not progress any further the bar just spins (I guess you call that action) and after some time it will stop until you move the mouse and it will continue but the bar never progresses to any point toward completion. I also noticed that when I was trying to format the drive with the disk utility it would also freeze at the unmounting drive part and would not progess at all I had to use my 10.5.6 ideneb disc in order to format it so it would install but now Im stuck here at the installer part.

Things I have tried:
So I have tried both of the ModCDs the one in post 1 and this one Naucom ModCD-10.6 to 10.6.4 ONLY (I searched for it)
I have tried the legacy_kernel and mach_kernel options but I find the only suefire way to boot to the drive is to just swap and press F5.

Wondering if you could demystify the process for me...

I've been reading quite a bit while waiting for Snow Leopard to arrive and must admit to being at a bit of a loss as to how to proceed...

Your thread is very clear and you come across as a very helpful person, so I decide to ask for a bit of advice here...

Can I use your process to install to the hardware (listed below), or is there perhaps another method that best suits my configuration?

Hardware:
Asus P6X58D-E
i7 930 (2.8Ghz 8 core)
6GB Ram (Corsair CL9), Clean Harddrive (~1TB)
Video Card: nVidea 8400GS

One more question...
My G5 (PPC) is at 10.4 and I know it will allow upgrading to Leopard but I need at least 10.6 to run some of the web development stuff...
Are there any hacks to alow getting to 10.6 as it does not have an Intel chip?

My G5 (PPC) is at 10.4 and I know it will allow upgrading to Leopard but I need at least 10.6 to run some of the web development stuff...
Are there any hacks to alow getting to 10.6 as it does not have an Intel chip?

No. 10.6 and up is x86 only.

i can't boot from HDD after install, i must insert the nawcom mod cd to boot. how to solve it?

First off, gotta love the walkthrough and the detailed information, so I decided to give it a try.

But:
uhoh, I'm getting the screen with the nanoseconds, any help would be much appreciated. I hope the imagequality is sufficient... Ran the dvd without mach_kernel command.

Attaching the images seems to fail, here it is:
