I read the 1st post once quickly, but it would seem that I need to acquire ModUSB, and a snow leopard disk image.
My DVD drive isn't too reliable, so I commonly don't use it for OS installs. Would it be possible for me to either acquire ModCD or ModUSB, throw it onto a CD, and then have it boot Snow Leopard installer from my flash drive? or even just throw ModCD or USB onto my flash drive, along with SL?
Also from what I understand so far, ModCD/USB has the necessary kexts to boot and install SL?

Espionage, to use the ModUSB you will need either 1) access to a Mac (can also be a hackintosh) or 2) you will need to be comfortable with executing Linux commands.
poadb, the reason why this guide is for any PC is because (in theory) it covers most if not all PC hardware.
So yes, I think it will work.

I have "Niresh12495-Lion-10.7.3-V2" and I followed the instructions to put it on flash drives, I'm able to select the Lion install image but I just freeze during the startup for some reason. I have -v enabled, and I'm seeing nothing that would cause a lock up :/ (only thing of slight concern I'm seeing is some USB stuff about sleep).

I'm very familiar with the USB controller will be unloaded across sleep issue; it is of no importance.
In the meantime, I will get you the Linux commands.
In your sig you have an Acer Travelmate running 10.6.1...do you still have that machine? Or is that the system you are trying to install on?

'K. Let me know if you get it running and then we'll create the USB installer there.

As for the instructions, I'll have to DL the files on another computer and transfer them over on my desktop via a flash drive or something, but currently the desktop itself does not have internet.
Does it also matter what version of SL I use for the install? Would a retail image of 10.6 work just fine?
Also if I read right, I could use this guide to get a working install of Snow Leopard, and then possibly update to Lion later?

I installed Snow Leopard to my AMD desktop (I followed some other guide though, it involved using a working Leopard install, and then installing SL from Leopard to a partition, installing the bootloader, kernel, etc)
I'm on 10.6 though (I only had access to a 10.6 disc, not 10.6.3) and I'm "hoping" I can simply run a combo update to 10.6.3, but in any case I'll find out in the near future
At the moment, I'm using modbin test kernel 7 and Chameleon RC4 with dmos.kext, NullCPUPowerManagement.kext and OpenHaltRestart.kext (I got rid of the UUID kext and SMBIOS.plist file after I updated from RC2 to RC4). I plan on installing the 10.6.3 Legacy Kernel and then the combo update.
Any feedback on this would be nice
Edit: Installed combo update from 10.6 to 10.6.3 without any special things being ran and it installed just fine
I used legacy kernel as well (I was able to boot this kernel on 10.6 as well)
Now the next task is to get to 10.6.8 and then fix my audio and graphics

Actually, during the boot-up process the drive powers down and then powers up later.
So, first open Disk Utility and plug in the USB drive you will use. Insert your SL DVD (or mount your SL DVD image). Now select your USB drive and click the Restore tab on the right. Drag the DVD/image onto Source, and your USB drive into Destination, and click Restore. When that's done, download the ModUSB package and install it onto your USB drive. You're done.
Now follow the guide as normal.

Well....if you look at the pics I took the first one is the panic from me trying to upgrade to 10.6.8, the other pics are from the USB & the Ethernet net adapter

Well I had OS X 10.6.8 running, my GPU was working with QE/CI without anything special being done, ethernet was working, but I broke my install when I decided to use "not-single" beast (lol) to install some ALC892 Realtek HDA drivers... It decided to delete everything in my /E/E folder (including dsmos)

Yes. Download Chameleon Wizard, click the SMBIOS tab, click Edit, and choose a predefined SMBIOS that fits your machine.
Espionage, reinstall Snow. What issues with audio were you having?
