Whats up community! First and foremost I would like to call myself out for the copy pasta nature of this post. I originally posted this on tonymac's site and now I wanted to see if the lot of you can help me as well. I hope this isn't audacious as I think it is :(

I am relatively new here on the boards and I would appreciate some help with getting my system going!

SPECS:

Asus Sabertooth p67 LGA 1155

Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus (cooler)

LightOn iHAS424 24x Internal DVD/CD Writer

CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX850 (PSU)

ATI Radeon 4870 (GPU) (Hopefully going to upgrade later)

Crucial m4 128gb SSD (Going to add 2 tb HD after install works...hopefully)

Corsair Graphite Series 600t (Case)

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (4GB currently installed due to suggestions on forums)

PROBLEM

I am trying to boot up and install Snow leopard on this new build, but every time after I boot from Andy's boot disk and then insert the Snow Leopard install disk, after booting, it hangs at the grey apple splash screen with the spinning wheel. I also tried to boot it using the "-v PciRoot=1" to see whats up and after all the technical jargon it hung at this line:

ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin: :start - waitForService(resourcesMatching(AppleIntelCpuPowerManagement) timed out

Most of these components are all out of box except for the GPU (I'm using an old one while waiting for an upgrade).

I have done a lot of research on this matter and noticed working builds (with the same mobo) from superbeastOSX, jhelmer25, jpa (users from this forum and tonymac's). Is there something I am missing?

SECOND ATTEMPT

My second attempt was with ##### Legacy. As promising as this was, it still had it's fair share of problems.

After booting with ##### Legacy and installing SL, I can now boot (with my SSD) onto snow leopard.

The moment I update with the Mac OS 10.6.8 combo update and #####, it either crashes when the combo update is almost finished, or when it is finished and I need to install #####. My screen gets overwhelmed with text and then freezes.

Now at this point I can no longer boot through my hard drive and have to resort into cleaning my partition and then clean install SL again, download the update again and then the cycle repeats.

Any ideas?

Potential Troubleshooting/Other Info

I have only tried three ways to boot. One would be with Andy's Boot disk (problems stated above and it just did not work. Any ideas Andy?), ##### (In which after the hanging apple grey logo, it would disappear and give me a blank grey screen). Then ##### Legacy, which the problem is stated above. I heard these are the best ways to get this mobo to work.

My crucial m4 SSD is connected to a sata 6/gbs port. I have read in other boards this may be a no no. (I do believe some people find it fine with this mobo though)

I am booting with ##### Legacy... 'nuff said!

Conclusion

I'm kind of at a loss on what's happening do you guys have any ideas? Maybe I should invest in a new Mobo :D

PS

For those interested, I'll post some pictures or video of what I am talking about, but in the meantime I hope my description is good enough!
