Overall am pretty happy with 10.7.1 on my HP DV8t w/ i5 540M processor & 8GB RAM.

Pretty straightforward install, using NIRESH boot DVD (& CPUS=1) & then the Taptun patched kernel to get all cores working.

However, have two issues which I've not seen before:

1) "Diagnostics" (under System Report) says:

Quote:

Power On Self-Test:

Last Run: 10/6/11 10:11 AM

Result: Failed

Failure Type: Memory

Memory Slots: Bottom - Slot 1/BANK 0, Bottom - Slot 2/BANK 1

End Quote

"Memory" pane shows OK for both DIMMs.

Tried known good RAM with no change in results.

2) When I boot with -v & -f flags, I get a line after fsck is run that says:

"Removed xx orphaned / unlinked files and yyy directories."

While I've seen this before, especially after a crash, I'm not used to seeing xx be double digits AND yyy often triple digits !

Anyone have any insight into either of these issues ?

Thanks,

G
