Hello,

I am about to purchase a Lenovo T420. I know about some guides and some DSDT's but have a few questions.

These DSDT's do they have problems with what ram or how much ram I have?

What Wireless card should I get (Thinkpad B/G/N or Intel) ?

Should I get switchable graphics (HD 3000 with Nvidia NVS 4200m)?

Does screen size matter ? Will the different size mess up the DSDT ?

If it does mess up the DSDT how can I make my own with their modifications?

Can I install Lion without installing Snow leopard first ( I have a mac computer and data to usb So i can partition the disk) ?

Thanks!

A: Not sure. DSDTs are usually RAM-quantity-dependent.

A: Doesn't matter, since neither will work in MacOS X. You will need a BIOS hack from MyDigitalLife forums and a Broadcom or Atheros half-height MiniPCI-E card available on eBay.

Should I get switchable graphics (HD 3000 with Nvidia NVS 4200m)?

A: You should probably go with NVS 4200m since you can turn off the HD 3000 and just run discrete in OS X. I have heard some reports that operation with the HD 3000 in OS X is unreliable, whereas I have pretty good luck with my NVidia GPU on a W520.

A: Maybe for Intel 3000, but it shouldn't matter since that has been integrated into the bootloader.

If it does mess up the DSDT how can I make my own with their modifications?

A: Read A LOT on this forum.

A: If you use iAtkos L1, probably. (I don't recommend this because it is not a retail, purchased copy of Lion, but if it's the only way to make it work, it's an option) Otherwise, I don't think so.

Also can I get a recommendation from you on what Wireless N card you would recommend ? also under 20 or 25 dollars?
