[SOLVED] OS X Auto Sleep Behavior

On a normal working mac, it goes to sleep after a certain idle time. Mine however doesn't, it just turns off the display.

I've checked with my sleep working hack book and the mac book and they both agree with me here.

pmset -g assertions

On the notebooks it shows:

On my desktop:

These assertions are keeping my mac and in turn me awake searching for solutions.

Does anyone know how to map the owner id's to real or vm memory to identify the source of these problems?

i wrote this couple month ago on another thread, that's was my problems with auto-sleep at least..

in my hackintosh time i discovered couple of reasons my auto-sleep stopped working

at first, it was the most common issue, TSSTcorp DVD Drive, the issue is those drives can't get to sleep without disk inside.so the solution is to put any disk inside your dvd drive.

next thing is hard drive sleep, once i changed to other hard drive, it had some troubles with OSX caused a high LCC (Load Cycle Count) and bricked sleep for the drive.

one more thing i don't know if helped me recover auto-sleep is the Q-connector (small connector which combine all the related connectors into one- Power Button, LEDS, Reset Button, Speaker etc)

also had issues getting auto-sleep with Edimax EW-7711UMn.

Last thing that may brick auto-sleep is the Activity Leds.

and also one time, i had my main SL refused to auto-sleep while clean install did no troubles.

my suggestions is if you really want to try fix auto-sleep, try figuring the main reason that brick auto-sleep

i.e disconnect all hardware, except hard-drive, try with clean installation, and even without any usb including mouse and keyboard, you can check if your drives go to proper sleep with CHUD Tools-SpindownHD.app (remember, if the drive can't sleep, you will not have auto-sleep)

hope those will help you

BTW i just checked and it seems i have those assertions also, and i have working auto-sleep

It's working now. It was that IOGEAR bluetooth dongle from walmart I'm going to return. I got my mac book pro bluetooth module hack working, Wake from sleep, working as well and fits right in with the Hackintosh style. Thanks Swhay, Ermac and these forums for your guidance and patience. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...luetooth+module
