Rasstar
I find the boot time is really long even though I am using an SSD drive. It takes 1 minute 15 seconds from the time I select the boot drive. I am using Chameleon boot loader. Is this normal behavior or is something wrong? Gringo Vermelho
Open Console.app and check the boot logs (kernel/system.log). All events have a timestamp, looking at those you should be able to see where in the boot process it's stalling.
Dr. Hurt
It takes 30 seconds for me, which is 10 seconds more than Snow Leopard :/ Start by repairing permissions using disk utility. After that, boot using -v to see which processes take long to finish
Rasstar
Looks like it hangs on ACPI SMC PlatformPlugin. I am searching for a solution. Any one know of any?
Gringo Vermelho
Get the latest version of fakesmc.kext from the ProjectOSX forums. It can run from /Extra/Extensions. If you already have one in /System/Library/Extensions, delete it. Also delete any fakesmc plugins you might have there, or at least make sure you don't have any fakesmc plugins installed that aren't specifically meant to work with your hardware. Rasstar
None of those worked but what did work was flashing a mac bios for my motherboard from Cartri. I didn't even know it exists but now the system boots in 15-20 seconds.
