Toshiba L750 Laptop won't power on after shutting down

Hello,

I'm hoping someone out there might have a solution to strange issue I am having with a Toshiba L750 laptop running Lion.

I've managed to get the OS installed and the hardware working but have an issue when shutting down the machine; It will actually turn off the machine but when I try to power back on, nothing happens (the power button simply does nothing) I am forced to physically remove the battery and unplug the a/c, then replug it in order for it to actually power back on.

I've tried using OSXRestart.kext, ev0reboot.kext, and OpenHaltRestart.kext with no effect, tried removing my DSDT alltogether with no effect, tried safe mode, 32-bit mode, all with no effect. Updated BIOS with no effect.

I'm running out of ideas as to why this is happening. I'm hoping that someone out there has experience a similar issue and might know of a possible fix or work around to this problem.

I've done a number of hackintosh systems before and never ran into this type of issue. The laptop itself otherwise is running Lion quite flawlessly, so this is something I would really like to resolve. Please let me know of anything you think might fix the problem I've described.

Thanks!

So after some further testing I've found out the following:

The system will only power back on from a shutdown if the a/c power adapter is disconnected prior to shutting down or after shutting down.

For some strange reason, if the a/c unit is plugged in when the unit is shutdown, the power button won't work when you try to power the unit back on (unless you unplug the a/c adapter for about 10 seconds).

I've tried messing with various settings in the bios but nothing seems to change this behavior.

If anyone has any suggests, I'm all ears! Thanks!

I personally used the following kext without issue for the L750 I had (VoodooHDA 2.7.3) and I removed the AppleHDA.kext as well -> http://www.datafilehost.com/download-775e8ee0.html

For the LAN, I used the Attansic/Atheros L1C Ethernet Kext for Snow Leopard from here: http://code.google.com/p/iats/downloads/detail?name=build_x64_20100425.zip

For the Wireless I added the following kext: http://www.mediafire.com/?e3tb7nb274xdx21 to IO80211Networking.kext(and remove legaryatheros.kext and atherosfix.kext if present) and I had no issues with the wireless, other than it not remembering connections on reboot (but I could always reconnect) Note that this driver also allowed for wireless a/b/g/N connections, not just a/b/g!

Hope that helps!
