Intel HD Graphics 3000 resolution options

I have installed Lion from retail on an Asus X53E. It has an i5-2410M CPU which includes Intel® HD Graphics 3000.

I have compiled the latest Chameleon from SVN and set GraphicsEnabler to true using org.chameleon.Boot.plist,

which gives me QE/CI, however, the resolution is stuck at 1024x768.

I've tried setting the Graphics Mode in boot.plist, which has no effect.

After some use I have noticed quite serious lines across the display, not dead pixels, but lines of pixels of the same colour, sometimes green sometimes grey. I have observed this behaviour in the wallpaper image and whilst watching a video. Also on a Finder Toolbar icon.

I'm looking into a fix, but I've found nothing useful yet.

Turns out that my GraphicsEnabler setting was wrong and if GraphicsEnabler is Yes whilst the DSDT patch is there then OS X will stay on a blue screen, but if the DSDT patch is not used and GraphicsEnabler is Yes then OS X will boot fine. That's using Chameleon version 2.1SVN and 32-bit kernel. (64-bit kernel has so far given blue screen on either option.) Note: Using the DSDT patch the GPU is recognised as "Intel HD 3000 Graphics" in System Profiler, whereas GraphicsEnabler registers it as "Unknown."

Hi, I have another notebook - Dell Vostro 3750 - with HD 3000, no graphic card. I'm also stuck at 1024x768. Could you describe how the patch is done? But if it takes a lot of hard- and software knowledge, if you must be able to understand the dsdt-code I couldn't do it. Can it be done with the ready-made patches of the DSDT-Editor?
