Hy. Starting from reading a very huge and sparse 3D in this forum and others.. and because I bought a new one.. I decided to start a new 3D collecting exps and share mine.

 

HW: Notebook, Intel® i7-2630QM 2.0GHz, RAM 4096MB, HDD 500GB, DVDRW Dual DL, Radeon HD6490 1GBi,

display LCD TFT 15.6'' BrightView, Audio IDT HDA 111D&DEV_7605, Lan Realtek 6189, Wifi BroadCom 4313 14E4&DEV_4727

BOOT/ACPI:

Kernel
: Solution is to choose or not to use a
l 11.1 or 11.0

The solution allow to boot without cpus=1 flag.

 

EDIT
: NO NEED OF NULLCPU.. use the speedstepper

So now you have true Sleep/wake.. and Lid open/Close is perfect.. as the macbook one!!!

 

Boot
: I've tested the boot with altered injection for Ati HD6xxx, the 8xx chamaleon boot.. but the only good boot that present no error (VVbios error or others) is the last trunk

 

Flags
: busratio=20 is a must to put in c.a.b.p but the plist now moved to chameleon plist version because c.a.b.p is deprecated

-v for verbose.. cpus=1 no if you use lapic patched kernel. arch=i386 or force64 ..boh? I see that actually it's the same

ATTENTION: in win and mac you see that the display get data only from Intel HD3000..

Ati HD6490M .. actually I can use it (joined with internal HD3000 intel) but with 512mb and DSDT injection

: I see that in mac/win the primary display use HD3000 intel.. and this is not properly installed

:

I tested all of them.. the best but not good for me is to replace all kexts with this

and put dsdt injection (in attached)

see Device (GFX0) --> Name (_ADR, 0x00020000)

and Device (PEGP)

 

AUDIO:

: use VoodooHDA attached.. OK MIC and SPEAKER NO GLITCH!!!

other voodoohda get sound no mic and random {censored}/mute/noises

 

I prefer to install real IDT.. but.. no progress at all.

So.. I tried a lot of IDT 3D.. but no one works

Actually I have a sort of basic DSDT injection

: at last.. applying this guide..

but.. no luck

 

LAN:

tried a lot of kext..(RealTekLANv206/RealtekR1000SL.kext/RealtekRTL81xx-0_0_67+).. the only one working is RealtekR1000SL.kext

 

WIFI:

tried Enabler_Wireles adapter_BCM43xx.sh but it search for AppleBroadcom 4311.kext to patch.

So in LION it never exist.
there is a dsdt injection I've used.. but no way to start it

strange: no one in the net is talkong about the ORANGE led in the wifi keyboard button

in Windows.. the boot raise the wifi accessing into EC register.

Store (One, WWD) and Store (One, WLD) in Offset (0xF5)

In windows if I alter manually thos parameter.. I can switch on off the wifi.

 

So my opinion is that Lion detect a PART of hardware but not all.. bacause the button drives the windows driver.. not directly the EC register.

And I'm trying to start manually the flag in dsdt.. with no success

 

MONITOR: OK

 

TRACKPAD: OK native

 

WEBCAM HD: OK native

 

 

MORE THAN THIS:

FakeSMC (3.0 or up)

Improve memory detection of Intel HD3000

for my HP, I didn't use voodoo audio, and I got sound OOB in lion. that's just me anyway.

 

indeed. I prefer not to use voodoo.. but.. really?

applehda vanilla lion?

 

With lion applehda i see a lot of sound assertions.. and in System Information I see

ID audio 12

Headphone 1/8 inc jack

Ext mic

int mic

etc..

but the control panel the audio is totally grey... without any kind of control by hand

and no sound

 

ok.. changed dsdt.. so now have 1gb ram of ati card

I decided to buy a combo mini pcie half with WIFI ralink 2860 (http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php?s=3) and bluetooth CSR 3.0

 

because this laptop don't have bt.. and I like to use mighty mouse ehe

and.. never mind.. I discover a voodoohda that run fine.. no glitch.. and yes mic!

now I'm involved in trying to do more with HD3000... But with macbook8.3.. for that architecture.. is the best effort!

so I see that changing smbios.plist with Macmini5,1 I have 512mb of Vga Shared memory insted of 384!

also trying to boot with PCIRootUID=1 or 0

to force use the ATI card.. ??

actually I tried a lot of IDT patched applehda.. not far .. the one included in a 4,7gb package of another boy who've created a lion setup for a DV6 similar to mine.

 

so.. actually i'm using voodoohda 2.7.3.. and mic and speaker are good without scratches or glitches.

 

but.. just few minutes ago I saw this

ehy: to EVBD:

I discovered a news.. the orange led of wifi.. never lights. ok? well ..it depends on drivers and EC registers. So I tried JOLIOS 1.2.. is a nwtbook specific linux distro. This one.. is able to light the led and wifi on!!!

 

°Ubuntu 11.10 beta2 is quite near.. but if you press the f12 key.. the ability to switch on off get broken.. til the next reboot

 

I think is difficult to manage wlan card only with a driver.. in mac

 

but.. must comprehend how jolios use the network management..

It seems that they are using it for ASUS P67 board only & using DSDT with it

 

Have your tried it, and did you edit the DSDT?

 

And which version did you use?

What exactly did you do in the DSDT ? because i need to do the edit it to my DSDT

I tried the ati3.. but no success

I put in attached my dsdt and also the .dsl version

so.. I spent a lot of time to edit it.. so don't ask me what I wrote..

to help you.. I put /* dsdt injection */

every time I did a mod

 

but.. please wait a copuple of weeks (because I'm in trouble in home) and I'll write a little explanation

the real problem is to find how to mod bios for the whitelist .. and how to turn on the led or he internal switch for the wifi lan card..

in ubuntu 11.10 beta2 the wlan is on but the led is orange.. better than enything!

removed External (\TNOT)

removed irq in RTC, TIMR

 

changed: name of device to GIGE, SATA

 

 

ADDED:

  • mdcp,dgtp,gcst methots
  • backlight and brightness (LCD,PNLF)
  • HD3000 and ATI 6490M DSM methods (in PEGP and GFX0)
  • dsm injection to load LPCB kext
  • EC tries (but no luck) to raise WLAN
  • irq in HPET
  • dsm injection in PS2 keyboard
  • CST in all Processor methods
  • EHCI 1 and 2 DSM (clock, current)
  • audio dsm injection (but.. without a real hda patched.. not useful!)
  • in RP02 (see ioreg) added DSM injection to load WLAN (data is ok.. but no luck)
  • DSM injection lo load SBUS kext

but could you help me?

I changed the dsdt.. little mods.. but the lappie boot fine but the screen remains blue

so the hdmi and vga output won't run.

 

I restored the prev dsdt.. and boot ok

maybe I suppose that the ATI output never run!!

 

I see in kernel.log few errors..

 

and.. I canged ehm.. don't know.. and the battery is always displayed as 'wallet connected' even if I unplug the charger

 

I tried for another time to alter the plist of applehda.. without success

 

we'd join toghether to do better!

1 good news 1 bad news

 

the bad: since now.. none of both graphic cards was detected properly

 

I found a fantastic utility called gfxCardStatus

that is able to switch between the two card (internal and pci)

 

so: only after changing the com.boot.chameleon.plist with kernel flags:

arch=x86_64</string

and the keys: PCIRootUID=1

 

I booted for the 1st time good with hd3000

 

and the utility tells good..

 

this is the good news

 

the bad.. is that the ati is not really detected.. yes I see it in mac.. but.. it'snot usable

 

infact in kernel.log I see

PEGP: Not usable

 

and the error.log tells

I already used that tool, my hd3000 perfectly recognized BTW

 

In that tool when i click on the ATI nothing happened, gfxCardStatus will still point into hd3000

1st

i' ve applied the edid injection.

reboot..it works fine. i see the proper name/link with the led monitor

2nd i modded the appleintelsngraphic....to alter the tables in order to fix the

output connector (dvi/crt etc)

at the moment i don't know if it run..i try this evening

but a test confirm the new NOT WORKING BLUE SCREEN AT BOOT

that ihad if i booted with one of the vombinations in the next par.

 

so:i tried the following cross tests with all the variables:

dsdt= yes/no

graphicsenabler yes/no

pcirootuid 1/0

smbios 8,1 or 8,2

and all of those combinations with bios settings vga fixed/dynamic

 

the results:

never boot blank or grey our blue..

with graphics yes..the screen in wide for 15" even if i use

smbios of a 13.3" (8,1)

i decided to use smbios 8,2 which is the only one good..because is a mbp with 15" and ati 6490m

if i use graphics yes i have always the boot warning

unsupported card!

and often the screen is filled of white rows (doesn't matter if pcirootuid is 1 or 0)

apart if graph and pciroot..changing the value

Dsdt=yes will make the gfxutility to recognize the hd3000

 

so..i think the best is with

graphicsenabler no

pcirootid 1

bios settins dynamic

dsdt yes/no.. depends if you want to use gfxutils

 

in all of those

i have in

ioreg -l

iodisplayparameters Ioframebufferhandler id not serializable

 

and

if i use my dsdt and graphicsenabler no and remove dsdt=yes

 

i have more data in ioreg -l

that shows data of ati radon..normally i don't see them

could you share you ps2 files that allows keyboard and trackpad?

i believe you are using the vanilla kexts, but i used voodoo and I was supposed to delete the vanilla ones, and i forgot to backup.

So please help. thanks

i'm trying to fxxx bios..but no success

using addcc ezh2o winhex and xp debug in vmware..

but furiuous..i stopped

i have the decoded bios.

the problem is that the only f1a bios modded from camilo is not good

people say that it's only a problem of cmos checksum..and without the cmos battery the laptop boots fine.

no

the camilo'sbios has a problem in the rtc part.

for example in w7 if you try to change hour w7 hangs

and in fact you never can boot mac..

 

i'm thinking to sell it

 

i tried to boot with orwithout graphics kext modded

with a chameleon trunk compiled by me

withgrap enabled y/n

starting without dsdt

but nothing improve the vga switching...

cinemabench is a {censored}

Non so se posso scrivere in italiano in questa sezione, ma siccome ho visto che lo sai spero tu possa aiutarmi. Io ho un HP PAVILION DV6-6152sl ed monto praticamente lo stesso tuo hardware, cambia solo il processore, io ho un i7 2670.

Volevo chiederti se potevi aiutarmi, perchè io sono riuscito ad arrivare al versione 10.6.6 ma non mi funziona praticamente niente solo tastiera e trackpad, visto che abbiamo quasi lo stesso computer volevo sapere a che punto eri arrivato e se eri riuscito a far funzionare correttamente la grafica. Comunque se vuoi puoi rispondere direttamente nel mio 3D. Spero davvero tu possa aiutarmi perchè non so più dove sbattere la testa.
