Dual Pointing Touchpad and Trackstick

Dell 1530 802.11 b/g/n wireless card

Broadcom Ethernet (14e4:1681)

Installation:

Installed Snow Leopard first using ##### and 10.6.3 Retail DVD

Prepared a USB Installer using xMove and Lion Retail DMG image mounted.

Installed Chimera 1.5.3 to the USB, copy the attached Extra folder to the root of the USB

Boot from the USB and install (Used the MBR Patch to modify USB so that can install to MBR)

May need a USB Mouse and Keyboard during install/ initial setup.

Boot from the USB Installer copy the Extra folder, install Chimera 1.5.4 , Run Kext Wizard

Post-install:

Replaced wireless with Azureware AR5B95 Half Mini from eBay ($4.50) and used the attached Kext and wireless works without any problem.

Use the attached Kext for Ethernet, may need to set the Mac Address manually to get the ip address.

Use something like this (change accordingly for your Mac Address) :

sudo ifconfig en0 ether b8:ac:6f:c8:e9:e3

For battery, use the attached Kext.

did have to Delete /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterface.plist and reboot to get App Store and Face Time working.

Should be fine.

I did have Mald0n create me a DSDT, he is just awesome.

I did, however, had to add the "DualLink" edit to the DSDT, else I will get a black screen on my Laptop screen.

Here is what I added the following below the line " Name (_ADR, 0x00020000) " under "Device (VID) " , used DSDTSE to edit and complie and video works with full 1600x900 resolution. Don't know about QE/CI though. But, YouTube videos just play fine.

Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized)
 {
 Store (Package (0x02)
 {
 "AAPL00,DualLink",
 Buffer (0x04)
 {
 0x01, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00
 }
 }, Local0)
 DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0))
 Return (Local0)
 }

Other than that I did change the Wifi card as mentioned in my orginal post. That card,btw, works by default in Windows 7. Let me know if you need help with Dual/Triple boot with Windows 7/XP.

Hello,

I bought a Dell Latitude E5420 with this configuration :

Intel core i5 -2410(2.3GHz)

8GB DDR3 RAM, 320G HDD SATA

Intel® HD Graphics HD 3000 14" HD WLED True-Life (1366x768)

Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet and Dell Wireless 1501

Firstly, I tried many times to install as instructed :

- Boot from #####

- Install the SL 10.6 retail DVD

But I always get this error message during the setup :

"The installer could not copy the necessary support files". I also restored the DVD to the hard disk partition but it does not change.

Later, I get iATKOS L1 DVD and install perfectly on my Dell.

After reboot, I had to type boot options : -f -s -v to get into the Lion system. With this, I have sound, webcam and keyboard functions. The wired/wireless, video card and power management do not work.

If I run ##### 4.0.3 with some options like :

o ##### Install

o System Utilities

o Drivers & Bootloaders

 Bootloaders

• Chimera v1.5.4

 Sound

• Voodoo HDA 2.7.2

o Mac BookPro 8,1

o Osx86 Software

o Extension Migration Tool

then I will get the video with its resolutions (1366x768) but I lost sound. It stop at that even i tried many other options in ##### or get other kexts from internet.

Could you please help me how to make this laptop installed with latest Mac OS X Lion.

Thanks for all your help !!!
