I was struggling to get Snow Leopard installed on my New Core i5 System using the ASUS P8Z68-M PRO.
I tried quite a few BOOTCDS + Retail Snowleopard Install DISK , however every time I would run into a KP during the Boot of the Retail 10.6 Install DISK.

Finally tried Andys Boot CD , http://dl.dropbox.co...65/AndyBoot.zip
NEW VERSION HERE http://www.mediafire...6lasyx8ojnpu72j
With this BOOT CD I was able to boot into the Snowleopard 10.6 Retail Install DISK without a KP .

Other Downloads to keep ready

Download the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Combo Update http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Download MultiBeast http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads
Download the UpdateHelper http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads

Below is my configuration .
Core i5 2310 @ 2.8 GHz
Asus - P8Z68-M PRO
16 GB (4GB x 4 DDR3 1333 MHz RAM ) Used Only 4 GB during the install Process . Added the other 12 GB once I had SL 10.6.8 updated and working.
Geforce GTX 560 - HDMI Out .
2 TB Segate HDD

I would need to also ensure the below ONBOARD Devices work in OSX .
Realtek® 8111E , 1 x Gigabit LAN Controller(s) (Working)
Realtek® ALC892 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC (Working)
ASMedia® USB 3.0 controller (NOT WORKING)

Ensure AHCI is enabled in the BIOS and All CPU Power Management settings are disabled (You can reenable once Instllation is successful)

After booting into OSX installer using Andy's BOOT CD , install OSX on your HDD using the default settings , no changes any where.

NOTE : I had issues reading from my Retail Snow Leopard DVD using my LG Blu Ray ROM , I burnt a backup DVD as well and I had the same issue. Hence created a Bootable USB
Drive with Snow Leopard Install on it . Watch this if you need to do the same for yourself . Else Let me know if you need help creating this , ONLY IF YOU HAVE ISSUES with installing from DVD.

Reboot the system and Boot into the Newly Installed OSX partition using Andy's BOOTCD .

1. Run the update helper for Sandybridge systems first .
2. Mount MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.8.dmg
3. Install MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.8.pkg
You may run into a Kernel Panic , thats OK dont worry , reboot into the OS using Andys CD and choose Ignore cache option. Install MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.8.pkg again , this time it should complete .

4. Next copy the DSDT.aml attached here to your desktop. http://www.insanelym...p...t&id=101657 (Thanks to MaLd0n for providing this to me)
5. Run Multibeast , choose USER DSDT Install  & in Drivers and Bootloaders ->KEXTS & Enablers choose  options Realtek Network card and ALC 892 Audio , and install !
6. Reboot the system once its done .
You Should Now be able to boot into Snow Leopard 10.6.8 with everything working .

If you have an Nvidia Card download http://www.nvidia.co...f01-driver.html and install the same !
I Still have yet to get my GT 560 running at full throttle.

I still need to look into MaLd0n suggestions on trying Speedstepper http://www.insanelym...howtopic=258611

I am actually using the Nvidia - HDMI Audio in Windows , has any one had any luck getting HDMI Audio output using the Fermi GPUs in OSX ?

Hi. I have successfully installed Lion 10.7.2 to P8Z68-M Pro motherboard with UniBeast and MultiBeast, following this guide. In MultiBeast I used no DSDT.
It is because I had kernel panic with DSDT from this thread. My other specs: i7 2600k, G.Skill DDR3 8192Mb (F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL), GUID partitioned 500Gb HDD taken out from WD MyBook (because of high prices nowadays :P) Sound, and network are working. To enable sound I installed with MultiBeast only Realtek ALC8xx and from Non-DSDT HDAEnabler I installed ALC892 in Audio section. For network I used lnx2mac's RealtekRTL81xx Ethernet Driver. The only thing is weird horizontal line on windows appearing time to time, - I use onchip Intel HD Graphics.
Any suggestions what to improve? I'm rookie in this, so maybe I missed something, & it is possible to enable something else working on this motherboard.

Worked like a charm! USB works for me, but after a reboot, sound no longer works and I have no devices in my input or output pane. What did you do to get this? I'm on 10.7.2 with the same install instructions you gave us.

Hi!
I tried installed leopard using the VMware virtual machine for create a bootable USB.
I finished to install the macOS, I booted in with the andy boot cd an after install the update helper I installed the snow leopard combo update... reboot my pc but when I try to boot into macOS it stops on the apple grey logo, I tried to boot verbose and the error I receive its:ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitforservice(resourceMatching(appleintelCPUpowermanagement) timed out...The problem where in the cpu power managements right? I didn't founded nothing about acpi in the advanced bios of my motherboard...I only set normal in EFI bios...the second option...
Sorry for bad english!
Please help me!
Thank you in advance!!
Bye
