Can you guys help me understand why I can't just run out and buy the same parts in the new apple intel based systems and buy a real copy of OSX and install it? Now that apple has intel desktops. doesn't that mean I can get on newegg.com and just buy the same parts without paying the high apple price tag?

Or is the motherboard and cpu in the apple system different in some sort of way?

-Thanks for you time. And plz be nice.. I'm a noob to this OSX 86 stuff...

... and apart from those little technical differences in the motherboard, there is a whole host of licensing issues, copyright issues and intellectual property rights tied up with Apple software and hardware which, from a juridical standpoint, make running OSX on third-party hardware a legal minefield in many jurisdictions in the world. Just so you know!
