Hello everyone,

Story is I have been trying to install osx on my external hdd now for about 2 weeks, I have burned around 10 dvds and have achieved nothing so far. Basically any help anyone can offer would be amazing before i smash my laptop in frustration.

My laptop is a Dell M1330 I have a clean distro of Snow Leopard in .dmg form and I have tried to burn it onto a DL DVD with Transmac but it came back with an error after about 10 mins. I am pretty sure this is because my drive can't burn duel layer dvds so I was going to put the distro onto my brother's laptop which I think can burn dl dvds. Unfortunately I can't get it onto the other laptop as the file is too big for any of the file systems on my hdds/ipods/memory cards etc. I am now wondering if it is possible to install the dmg directly onto my hdd.

If anyone had any bright ideas or words of encouragement that would be amazing!

Thanks

Jamie

am not good with distro but try this

connect ur lap with ur borther's laptop with a either a 2 way usb network cable ,

or get a normal network cable and setup a network between u and him then try to transfer it.

secondly ,use the usb method to setup ur Os through it as its much better and more reliable ,if u cant then try to restore ur distro to an Ex.HDD and install myhack 1.1.4 on it so u can boot with that hdd and see will it install or not.
