So I've finally got a (so far) stable Leopard running on my Dell dimension 3000 using a vanilla install of 10.5.6. USB's, wireless usb adapter, sound, etc all at a go. I know I won't be able to update iTunes or safari without 5.8, but are there any other reasons to upgrade...(outside the joy of getting everything to work again of course lol). My hard drive is sad to say the least so I don't plan on using the system for media, hence blah iTunes. Otherwise, it will serve as a tinkering tool and something to get my hands dirty with OS X and maybe some dual boot action.

Any suggestions/opinions are greatly appreciated. Oh and I have one problem with Sleep; hard drives turn off but monitor stays on. Can't seem to find anything for this case of sleep issues.

Also, thank all you guys for the excellent wealth of information here on the forum... A month ago I would have probably thought a Kext was a type of cereal.

p.s. My apologies to anyone who saw the initial post that just had a smiley face...blasted phone browsers.
