dh22r
Nopesend me DSDT My P8Z68-V Pro (bios 0606) works, but no sleep (ie. can sleep but won't wake with keypress). I placed the dsdt.aml file in my /Extra folder, ran kext utility and rebooted. Now I'm getting KPs. Any suggestions? Thanks.
wiraone
Please share what works and what nots.. I've been running my system without DSDT and wondering if it will work better with DSDT. Thanks. Oh, btw, I'm using speedstep patcher by flaked right now.
rcork
I dumped my GA-Z68X-UD4-B3 and got a P8Z68-V which is leaps and bounds a better board over the Gigabyte. I had nothing but problems with the Gigabyte board. The only problem with the P8Z68-V is sleep. It will go to sleep instantly but won't wake up. I used Autopatcher to create the DSDT and edited the HDEF section to get audio working with AppleHDA. I also edited the DSDT to get HDMI audio out of my HD6850. I don't use the USB3 and built-in bluetooth but everything else works great.

dh22r
dsdt.dh22r.zip thanks so much, madlon! i placed the dsdt.aml file in the /extra folder and then rebooted. but when i put the machine to sleep, it still wouldn't wake up (via mouse nor keyboard) i'd thought a patched DSDT file enables sleep/wake to work properly (based on gigabyte board and downloaded DSDT from tonymacx86's site). i'm only using the onboard intel HD 3000 graphics - no graphics card is installed. i've this machine setup for for dual boot with Win7 (separate hard drive). in windows, sleep/wake works file. this tells me my BIOS setting is not the culprit. any ideas? thanks again. -dh-

I use chimera 1.5.4 but not work.. are you able to get sleep/wake to work on your motherboard? by the way, if you're asking whether chimera works or not with HD3000, i can only get the DVI to work -- not HDMI nor VGA. -dh-
vagpounder
Hey guys, Posting here because it seems like I have similar build as others: P8Z68-V Pro (BIOS 0606), i7-2600k, 8GB Kingston RAM on two slots. I've managed to get dual boot running on two partitions on a 120GB SSD. Windows 7 works perfectly but I can't seem get a stable install of SL going. 1. Can I use the same DSDT file MaLd0n made? (dsdt.chroniX) The only difference is that I don't have a GPU card. Or is there another DSDT that I can use for this setup? 2. Is it wise to replace the BIOS with an updated BIOS with a patched DSDT? How would I go about doing this? Just a side note, I've been reading that there are still issues with HDMI. I was wondering if this has been fixed. It's my first time doing a SL install, much help will be appreciated. Thanks again. Edit: After reading around, it really seems that getting the perfect DSDT is no easy feat at all. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=268796
wiraone
Hi vagpounder, I had previously running SL and now on Lion on this motherboard without any DSDT. What kind of problem you're getting? I'm not using the HD3000 though.
vagpounder
Hi vagpounder, I had previously running SL and now on Lion on this motherboard without any DSDT. What kind of problem you're getting? I'm not using the HD3000 though. I managed to get it working by following the instructions here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=267359 SL seems to be up and running no probs for now, so I'm going to make a backup with CCC and have a quick play around with it. I'll give update a go too Reading around the forum, I just assumed that the DSDT method is the cleanest and most accurate install since it specifically caters to each individual build. Is that correct? I would love to make a custom DSDT, but it is a little beyond my scope for now, and not to mention the sheer time investment is immense. Can anyone recommend other customizations or program that I need to go with SL and this build? Thanks.
wiraone
vgapounder, I'm using the speedstepper patch which can be downloaded from the following thread: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=258611 With the above patch, you can have the sandy bridge speedstep to work and probably the sleep too without needing the DSDT file. However, I couldn't get sleep to work correctly on my setup, whenever I put the system on sleep, it will go to sleep for few seconds but the CPU/system fan will come back alive few seconds after but the display indicates that it is sleeping. It was working well when I used it with SL though.
imk
Sleep may have been fixed by the recent (2011 Sept. 22) BIOS update.
