okey here it is. good luck

Can confirm: missing AppleACPIBatteryManager.kext activated my lost Battery Display in the upper-statusbar (x86_64 mode)

But also have some questions:
  • ethernet: after first sleep and wakeup, ethernet is not connecting anymore
  • chameleon: can I always take the newest version? or are there some built which are not for the 1201N - which one is the latest (v2.1 1650 or higher) ?
  • I've 2 partitions of LION and the traditional commandline bootoptions but no GUI ???  - Where to save the default partition, which GUI, the timeout for booting. the other options I found in org.chameleon.Boot.plist of each partitions.
thx Mondi

Hmm do you suggest to re-download Lion from another source also? I have currently Snop Leopard running my netbook but it is version 10.6 - is it possible to access app store from there so I can buy and download original version of lion or do I need to upgrade my version of OSX? When I go to update software there is no Mac App Store update to install. Is there any other way then to access that?

I am really worried about that as I had around 3-4 tries of re-doing every step again but no success. I have to confess I dont have Lion from original source (Apple Store). Could that cause the problem?

Yeah!, had the same problem in 64 bit mode... both the kext from Vince22 and osx86.net work anyway.

What I wanted to ask you is how you manage to sleep your 1201N ?... I can't lol..

Ps: About ethernet try disabling the ethernet service (from the network prefpane) then enable it again.. that makes mine work...good luck!

sorted out my overheating problem! took it apart and cleaned out all the dust! i've reinstalled OSX so im back to 10.7

So.... my keyboard and track pad arnt working, ive ran the kext utility, maybe im missing some? ive moved the kexts back to the extra folder and still nothing, the keyboard works for a few strokes, the shortcuts work, but then nothing....

sleep? i have to install the power kext for the to work right? but will it run in i 32 bit or 64?

and lastly how can i update to 10.2? combo update?

thanks ;)

Are you sure you reconnected the 2 ribbon cables correctly?

I did think the ribbons, so I went back and checked them and they seem fine, secure etc

where can I get the kext wizard from?

tried updating to 10.7.2 via the combo update and the same happened :)

yeah the keyboard works fine in windows and the shortcuts work fine in the installer aswel :S

I've reinstalled yet again now because of the failure of 10.7.2 and I'm just restoring everything now so see if I can sort it, any help would be great though!

Biird,

I tried a lot of versions of Chameleon, and SMBIOS, injecting EFI strings etc. But the version that worked for me was V2.1 svn 1627VS, and, seeing how I think I am using your dsdt.aml (a lot fixes back and forth back and forth to get iCloud!). It might be worth a try.  Cheers.

I see you've tried that already - Sorry. The SMBIOS.plist I used was generated by Champlist. I used a low voltage 11'6 inch C2D Macbook Air (macbookAir3,1) as a starting point. That may be the difference.Rebooting with a presumed bad SMBIOS still leaves FaceTime still working though...

No worries. I'm using that exact SMbios.plist now. I'm 99% convinced its either some partitioning error with the way the bootloader gets installed, or I have some other tweak installed that blocks my connection to Apples servers. I'll reinstall next weekend.

this my working config (sleep, wakeup, bluetooth, cam, sound, mic, hdmi, asuskeys, cardreader, battery -- issue: ethernet only works before first sleep/wakeup - I'm working on it):
  • Asus 1201N / x86_64 / 4GB Ram / Dell 1510
  • installed Lion from this guide (p.1), updated to 10.7.2 via Apple's combo dl or software update online
  • BL chameleon v2.1 1627
  • UseKernelCache = Yes (org.chameleon.boot.plist)
  • moved all Kexts from /E/E to /S/L/E (you should overwrite any existing but first backup or zip them )
  • for sound install HDA and IOFam kexts
  • don't forget repair permissions and hide kernel!
Champlist for those who like to experiment

you disambled your 1201n once? check contacts ... ah I remember you have w7 and there it works, or? I once had an trackpad issue at 10.6.x there I deleted the trackpad prefpane b/c I thought one is enough (In preferences I had one original and one trackpad in section "others"  but I can't remember what I did for repair that issue ... sorry)

I did to clear all the dust out the fan, now its running at 50-60 degrees instead or 70-80! and overheating

I have checked the contacts a few times and im 100% sure there in right

yeah its duelbooted with win7 and the keyboard works fine there (diddnt try the trackpad though)

in mac for the 1st like 10 minutes if you press a key it regesteres it once then the any other keys it holds it down and so you end up with something like: dhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh etc etc

but after 10 minutes or so it works fine! :S

tempted to put 10.7 on another partition as a clean install and see what happens!

btw how did you update to 10.7.2? Ive tried software update and the combo update but both end up in not being able to boot ;)

I think I didn't reboot when finished update, changed the kernel and I installed the chameleon 1627 before and repaired all permissions. then rebooted ...
But I recommend a clean, small installation on a second partition which can be any osx version where files can be copied, edited, repaired on the first partition.
