Hello guys!

I wanna try to install Mac OS X Lion (10.7) on my computer which is equipped with Asus Maximus Formula motherboard and I really need your help!

Full Specs:

 • Asus Maximus Formula X38 (Bios 1403)
 • GSkill 8GB 1066MHz (4x2GB)
 • Intel Core2Quad Q9550 2.8GHz
 • NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS (512MB) PCI-Express
 • Optiarc IDE DVD-RW drive

Do you have any idea where I can find the right DSDT.aml file for my motherboard (with Bios:1403) ?

Thank you guys!

PS : I tried installing Mac OS X 10.6.3 with ##### Legacy and ##### with a DSDT.aml file I found on tonymacx86 forum but I get errors when booting to Snow Leopard and at the end it says "Press Any Key To Continue". When I press a key it continues to load and it loads fine (missing the Network adapter) Can you please help me? I want the RIGHT DSDT.aml, as I think that this DSDT.aml isnt the right one.

OK, I installed Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3 and then I upgraded to 10.6.8. Before the Restart I run ##### (from Tonymacx86) and checked "UserDSDT" (with the DSDT.aml file on my Desktop).

The Restart (and the upgrade of course) was almost succesful. One problem I got though was that when I restart my computer (or just boot it from the start) there are 2 screens before Mac OS X finish the booting. (I attached them for you to see). It says "Press Any Key to Continue" (twice) and then it starts showing a long list (running downward) and then it boots.

Another thing is my XFX 8800GTS 512MB (G92) graphics card. It runs OK but it has some problem when I minimize or maximize a window. System Info shows the correct information for my GPU (I think).

Here are the info :

GeForce 8800 GTS 512:

Chipset Model: GeForce 8800 GTS 512

Type: GPU

Bus: PCIe

Slot: Slot-1

PCIe Lane Width: x16

VRAM (Total): 512 MB

Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)

Device ID: 0x0600

Revision ID: 0x00a2

ROM Revision: VGA BIOS

Displays:

Display Connector:

Status: No Display Connected

DELL U2410:

Resolution: 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz

Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)

Main Display: Yes

Mirror: Off

Online: Yes

Rotation: Supported

Thank you in advance!

look it

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=257753

same procedure

Post installation

I did what you told me but I think I messed it up.

I followed the link you provided for the "Post Installation" part. So I :

 1. Copied the Extra folder to my root disk
 2. Installed Chameleon RC5 1083 to my Snow Leopard installation
 3. Run DSDT Auto-patcher (choosed "Asus Maximus Rampage Formula")
 4. For the fourth step I was already updated to 10.6.7 so I didnt do anything else.

Now my system starts up, Chameleon boot screen is starting (it does not auto-starts, I have to hit "Enter" to continue) The display resolution is at 1024x768 (from 1920x1200) so I lost the NVIDIA 8800GTS 512MB G92.

Did I do something wrong?...

Thanks a lot MaLDon!

PS : The screenies I sent to you, forget it.. This problem is solved following your steps.

Don't use "Asus Maximus Rampage Formula" That particular one was made for me. Its a Maximus Formula with a Rampage Formula Bios.

The DSDT MaLd0n supplied has already been patched. If you want to patch it yourself take that ACPI file you supplied and run it in the autopatcher otherwise do not autopatch a DSDT that was already patched.

I am hoping MaLd0n sees this reply and checks with his patch. I supplied this Motherboard DSDT but told him it was a Maximus Formula Motherboard converted to a Rampage Formula Bios revision 0902

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showth...page-conversion

So make sure you use the "Maximus Formula" patch not Maximus Rampage Formula" patch. MaLd0n already patched it for you if I am correct.

EDITED:

For your information, MaLd0n said that "Maximus Rampage Formula" patch will work on either board since they are both Northbridge ICH9R contollers.

Like I said already, MaLd0n attached the DSDT to you that was already patched!!

Hi Mald0n, can I ask you about the same topic? I have a ASUS Maximus Formula (1403 bios and O'C) and I are in the installation of Mavericks. At this moment, i got my machine in the first start up after installation. Is time to run #####, so time to DSDT. Can you help me?

Should I run an extractor and then patch it right?

What's up whit my O'Clock?

TKS in advance.
