Short story (and please DON't just advice to change the video card):

I have a Snow Leo (10.6.3) installed using the NAWCom ModCD and the retail DVD, on an ASUS P5WD2 Premium mobo and a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD2900 Pro (512Mb)

Now , I know that everybody will start yelling that HD2xxx is not supported in Snow Leo but that's NOT the matter here.

The question is about video modes and max resolutions when only ATY.Franklin is used. I ask about this because it's the driver that ModCD chose to install by default

(YES, I will provide a beer to anyone pointing me to a better kext but ... ;-) ...)

By editing an /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist I could only get the following:

[WHAT I SET UP]__________________[WHAT I GOT AFTER REBOOT]

=======================================

1920x1200x32 (WUXGA)_____________ 1400x1050 (SXGA)

1920x1080x32 (monitor's max)_________ 1400x1050 (SXGA)

1680x1050x32 (WSXGA+)_____________1400x1050 (SXGA)

1440x900x32 (WXGA+)_______________1152x864 (XGA)

So ... is there any way to get a proper WIDE resolution ?

Of course I'd like to get 1920x1080 as this is the max resolution supported by the monitor but it seems that ATY.Franklin can't work with it (Or I just didn't know how to properly set up the <string>bla-bla-bla</string> in the plist file.

Any help here ?
