Hello Everything its with a great smile i now can be showing you guys how to get Mac OS X on you HP Envy 15 !

first off google iPortable Snow and install to USB using another hackintosh or mac computer.

boot up the USB on the HP Envy make sure to use these boot flags: cpus=1 busratio=12

when logged in, use Carbon Copy Cloner and copy the hole USB to your harddrive.

( make sure your have formatted your harddrive with atleast 3 partitions) REMEMBER TO MAKE RECOVERY DISC FOR YOUR OS THAT CAME WITH THE HP ENVY 15! These cannot be ordered anymore!!!

1 mac os x 100+ gb format: mac os x journaled Remember to make it MBR and not GUID!

2 windows 7 100+ gb format: MS-DOS (fat32) Remember to make it MBR and not GUID!

3 install lion/backup 35 gb format: mac os x journaled Remember to make it MBR and not GUID!

now when its done DONT CLOSE Mac OS X go to Applications, OSx86Tools and click on DSDT Patcher.

choose mac os x/darwin and mark everything else and click patch. it should come up with an error ( just ignore it)

now open finder ( close all windows and click on finder icon) click on the mac os x drive and look for Hackintosh tools double click it and choose iportable boot fix and choose the with Mac on as destination and install

now you can reboot and unplug the USB!

when you come to boot screen type cpus=1 busratio=12 and click enter

now your logged in now go and fire up Carbon Copy Cloner and copy the drive you installed mac on to the install lion/backup drive

now open finder agian ( close all windows and click on finder icon) click on the mac os x drive and look for Hackintosh tools double click it and choose pfix and click enter once and enter password you made earlier.

now for updating to 10.6.8

go to a desktop and download the combo update since networking might not work on the hp envy 15 yet! and transfer with USB.

run and install the combo update BUT DO NOT REBOOT!

go into Install lion/backup drive by double clicking and go into System/library/extentions and copy AppleACPIPlatform.kext and IOPCIFamily.kext to dekstop of the Mac install you just updated.

now replace AppleACPIPlatform.kext and IOPCIFamily.kext on same system location on the main mac install drive with those you just copyed to desktop ( REMEMBER COPY NOT MOVE! ) and run pfix.

now when its done DONT CLOSE Mac OS X yet go to Applications, OSx86Tools and click on DSDT Patcher.

choose mac os x/darwin and mark everything else and click patch. it should come up with an error ( just ignore it)

now you can reboot and use for a good times sake cpus=1 busratio=12 -v -x . to make sure that it boots correctly without PCI Configuration begin or still waiting on root device etc.

when its done use Carbon Copy Cloner to do backup to the install lion/backup drive and keep doing it after you have tested the kexts and know they dont cause kernel panic ( backup takes about 2 mins after make sure to check remove all things that is not present on Main Mac drive) and now you run Finder and choose hackintosh tools and choose notebook tools and only install VoodooBattery.pkg and run pfix to make sure it wont crash.

reboot and now you can see battery life on mac.

If it does not crash during startup or while using the computer your safe to make backup agian.

If it does crash during startup or while using the computer just reverse the backup by booting into the install lion/back drive and using the Install lion/backup as source disk and main mac installation as target.

Enjoy ;)

later guys if you have any questions please make a comment below with you problems using this metode or if u managed to get any futher than me with this. <_<

Hi, I have an HP Envy 15t-1100 CTO which is the 2nd generation hp envy 15. I tried to follow your guide, but when I try to boot from the usb, the pc keeps restarting. I have tried cpus=1 busratio=18 (cpu is i5 520) -v -f -x but they all result in the same thing. Was there another flag you used?

Thanks

I am able to confirm that this method by Incred bull works on a 2nd gen hp envy 15. The only difference was that I had to use the legacy_kernel to boot at first. Then after the 10.6.8 update there is no need for the legacy_kernel. I was able to get audio to work using voodoohda 2.7.2, but the volume controls did not work and it would stay on max volume.

Everything works except for the graphics because of no QE/CI. Also the graphics fan spins very fast and the graphics chip gets very hot. For the wifi, I swapped the intel wifi with an Atheros AR5B93 adapter and wifi works.

I have been able to get audio working for the most part. Sometimes I get a KP, but when I reboot it goes away most of the time. I am using Voodoo HDA 2.6.2 I think. It is one for IDT codecs if I remember correctly.

The model of my HP Envy is 15t -1100 CTO

Also I am still trying to get graphics supported, but this seems unlikely because the desktop 5830 does not even work on OSX.

My audio seems to be working very well right now with the voodoo hda 2.6.2. I installed osx using the method described in the first two posts of this thread. This is the best method I have tried so far. Because if something goes wrong, I can restore the partition from a backup partition I made. I am running 10.6.8 right now, but I rarely use osx because the Graphics Card's fan runs very fast and produces too much heat. This can be fixed with the right framebuffer but I cannot find the right one, all I get if I use GraphicsEnabler=Yes is a black screen, but the heat is less.
