Firewire sleep issue - FireWire GUID ffffffffffffffff is invalid!

kernel FireWire GUID ffffffffffffffff is invalid!

I get this all over the Console whenever my Hackie wakes up from sleep. 10.6.8, Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3P board, i7 2600k, ##### + ##### install. Apparently it has to do with the Firewire chipset. It's irksome as everything else is working splendidly on this board minus audio. As a result, I'm using a Griffin Firewave hooked up to a receiver for 5.1 surround sound. It works great and sounds great, too, but upon waking from sleep, the Firewave powers up but I get no audio. It's recognized by System Profiler just fine, but apparently it doesn't want to work.

Some suggested getting a TI chipset card to fix the problem in earlier threads, but I'm hoping there's a fix of some sort floating around that I might have missed that doesn't involve dropping a Firewire card into this thing.

If you have a hard drive connected via Firewire, try resetting the Spotlight Index:

http://apple.stackex...-my-console-log

Try removing your Firewire from network devices.

Try a CMOS reset.

Finally, and most promising:

http://ubcd4win.com/...showtopic=15839 (be careful with these)

The listed tools (such as ohcirom.exe) can be found with some creative googling.

I have the same problem.

I have the right DSDT, graphics kext, sleep works, but just this annoying message in the console every second:

24/07/12 10:47:59.000 PM kernel: FireWire GUID ffffffffffffffff is invalid!

I tried a few of the above, and I can edit DSDT if I knew what to edit exactly.

Any help appreciated! thanks!
