Lion working, just a couple minor issues

I got Lion working 100% (well, 99%, lol). The only NON working thing is sleep (it never worked for my MB).

I used DSDT auto patcher to generate my DSDT for the latest version of my BIOS.

I use FakeSMC w/ plugins to monitor temps. I have what ##### installed (just lazy to download kexts one by one).

The only changes I made were modding FakeSMC to match the SMC version for MacPro5,1, a modded AppleHDA for ALC889a, and adding my Ethernet controller into my DSDT).

All that isn't working is sleep...

Some other issues: is there or is there not a way to force the App Store to recognize installed software (namely iWorks and iLife)? Apparently it did it automatically in 10.6.6, but that was removed in 10.6.7 (I even tried extracting the App Store from 10.6.6 and adding the current one's .plists); there was a hack that involved copying some files from inside the .app bundle, but I tried that and it didn't work... Also, what's up with Xcode 4.1? The App Store downloaded an installer into /Applications which put Xcode into its usual /Developer. I deleted the installer and now Xcode shows up as not installed in the App Store... So much for auto-updates!

More important (than the App Store bs), my mighty mouse disconnects (or doesn't reconnect) on every reboot (it used to happen if I switched from Win to Mac and connected it to the other OS, so Mac+MM > reboot > Win + MM > reboot > Mac wouldn't connect, it would do what it does now which is flash the bluetooth icon as connected and then go back to normal; what did use to work was Mac+MM > Win without MM > Mac connects to the MM fine).

To reconnect it I'm forced to turn the mouse off, turn bluetooth off (otherwise it won't let me delete the device), remove the device, turn the mouse on and add the MM again. Basically defeats the point of the MM since I have to have a wired mouse plugged in all the time anyways...

Also MM related: Mouse prefs report battery at 100% while iStat Pro reports 70%. I'm using NiMH rechargeables, if a makes any difference...

Attached kernel log has lot's of BT errors... They don't mean anything to me, but maybe one of you guys can figure it out :D

Since were on the sensors topic: iStat reports ambient temps @ 127º. Evereything else in iStat is fine (CPUs are called A & B, 1 & 2 would be nice, but to heck with that). SMC Monitor reports the same, and also has the following values wrong:

CPU 0, 1, 2, 3 frequency: 1800 >> Should be 3800 (in MHz)

Memory Voltage: 0.112 >> Should be 1.5v

Non Apple GPU frequency 11010 >> I'd be maxing out Crysis 2 if this were my core clock, should be 650Mhz (unless it's the Mem clock, in which case it's still way off, since it should be 1800MHz).

P & C states are read fine (and I guess are working too)

Why does System Profiler say my ethernet card is in PCI Slot 3 if it's supposed to be detected as built in?

App related: I've decided to use Apple's Mail.app as my main email client, so I can have an offline copy of all my mail. But I want to get notifications without opening my email client, as I have been doing with Notify... I set up Notify to open my mails in Mail.app, but Mail obviously gives me an error when I open it because it hasn't received the message yet ;). Does anyone know a way to get Mail.app notifications without having Mail open 24/7, or to get it to work with Notify?

Should I ignore the error when opening BootCamp Assistant (I don't give a s**t about BootCamp Assistant, I just thought the error might indicate a more general issue, i.e. my hack not being recognized as a completely legit mac)?

How can I inject my memory serial numbers into System Profiler? With my current .plist (attached below) I get:

Serial Number: 0.

Memory detection is enabled. I tried disabling it and injecting all the info thru Smbios.plist, but I couldn't get that to work...

I get "Unknown AHCI Standard Controller" in sys prof, I'm guessing this is the JMicron JMB360 that provides the eSata port on the back of my MB. Any way to get it to work? I tried JMicron36xeSATA.kext but it didn't work for me, maybe because there is no JMicron entry in my DSDT...

Few! I think that's all! If your read all the way down here you'r the most patient person I've met, lol :)

Salut domnule,

I'm not sure about the sleep problem. I have an older mobo.

Did you notice the warning in kernel.log?

AppleUSBCDC: init device failed.

I have the same problem ;) I think it's chameleon related.

Um... I guess... I have no idea what it is... In theory USB is fully functional in my build.

what happen when you try sleeping?

have you tried another bluetooth dongle?(don't know if it will help but worth trying)

temp readings errors should go to the appropriate place (projectosx86 forum), they have forum for fakeSMC and all the plug ins, maybe you will find help there about temp readings.

about batteries %, i also getting different readings from different apps (istat, bettertouchtool, apple os) and all i can sat is apple is the most accurate for me

when I try sleeping (with my overclock disabled so that that's not an issue) the comp shuts down like if it were sleeping, then (if I press a button) it boots up like if it had been off.

I don't have another dongle to try :)

I ignore readings anyways until I run out of battery, thanks anyhow :)

can you try sending to sleep without anything connected? (no usb no nothing, even keyboard+mouse)

auto sleep or power buttton then?

I had the BT-Issues too with my magic mouse and apple bt-keyboard, putting the bt-dongle directly on the motherboard usb ports fixed it, also under SL it was always flawlessly working on the hub

it's always been plugged into the MB directly, I even tried switching ports...

Hi, I tried it, I unplugged everything except my monitor and pressed the power button, then I waited 20s and pressed it again. The result was the BIOS LED (which indicates the boot process state) starts flashing numbers, then everything power cycles and reboots ;)

Here is my kernel log:

wait just a sec does your pc go to sleep when nothing is attached? can't figure from your message

maybe you have problem with applertc, can you try sleep on your SL with nothing plugged and see what happened?

it does what it always does, it goes "to sleep" and then instead of waking up it turns on.

the same thing happened in snow leopard

I'm not as worried about sleep (it would be nice thou) as I am about all the errors in my logs, the bluetooth issues and the actual cause of my sleep issues (i.e. if pwr management isn't working right).
