sashafan2
I want to upgrade my snow leo hackintosh to lion. However, I can't get to the installation. Verbose boot passes without errors or freezes, but the last line I see is: "device in slot:1". Then the screen turns gray. I have tried booting with -x and other keys but it doesn't help. My hardware: Motherboard - asus p5k with asus p5kr bios, cpu: core2duo e7500, videocard - ati 4850 1 gb. Please help!

I might be reading your hardware wrong but is the 1 gb your computer ram? or is that your Video Card ram? If that is your computer ram you need at least two gigs of ram to run Lion i believe, if it is your video ram sorry for the post. On a side note I had a problem getting to the installation screen it was the older boot loader that was causing the problem, if you are having problems getting lion installed you might start from scratch using ##### you can get it from the downloads here http://www.tonymacx86.com/ reinstall Snow Leopard then use ##### to install your DSDT file I found your boards DSDT File here on this thread http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=194071 Then you could follow the rest of Tony Macs Lion Install with xMove its cake. Hope this helps
sashafan2
get it from Here and Fakesmc from Here also dont forget to Fix the Perm. Thanks for the advice aufa 3333. Unfortunately it didn't help Macmodifier , I meant 1 gb video ram. My bootloader claims to support Lion but I'll try another one. Thanks a lot for advice! Thanks a lot for advice! install Chameleon-2.0-RC5-r1083.pkg on ur installer device or you can use latest ##### with the flag "mach_kernel" at boot and it should boot ur Lion without any flaws "Lion kernel is dif than the kernel that ##### use ,thats why u have to use the flag"
sashafan2
Some progress with new bootloaer. Now installation boots properly with -x GraphicsEnabler=no, while previously it didn't. However, if I boot without this key, boot gets stuck on "Device in slot=1"(now without showing gray screen). Has anyone managed to make ati hd 4850 work? copil
GraphicsEnabler is set to Yes in org.chameleon.Boot.plist in /Extra/Extensions and a LegacyATI4800Controller.kext with the correct dev id for the card is placed in /System/Library/Extensions. Deleted ATI4500Controller.kext and ATI4600Controller.kext. Rebuild cache, fix permissions.
