PGHammer
Because *somehow* my clean-installed Lion GM (upgraded to 10.7.2-DEV) got corrupted, forcing a reinstall, I thought I'd do things a little differently. Last time I did not import anything from Snow at all - this time, I decided to choose the settings import option (naturally, I had installed the 10.6.8 Supplemental Update that addresses this exact issue). The two partitions share a drive, so naturally the import didn't take long. One welcome surprise is that the *login* screen (that is the clean-install/no-imported settings default for Lion) has been banished. Apparently, a single-user Lion system acts more like Snow Leopard (or Windows) with this option in place - no login prompt. If you are the sole user of OS X, you now have another reason to import your settings from your old version. (Yes - Windows has the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard; however, you have far more hoops to jump through than an OS X user - even on a "Hack" - does to implement it.) HFW
System Preferences, Users & Groups, Login Options, Auto Logon = on. Same thing, less hassle/potential problems.
