tomnic
Hello... I've seen that many many people having my same DevID get this card working with full acceleration, I don't mind about mouse tearing, what I need is QE/CI/OGL enabled... and for these people everything works ok just after a fresh install, without doing anything, even if resolution witch must be enabled installing Callisto... This is my Laptop configuration: Asus A2S/C SiS 6xx FX based Pentium IV 2.8 GHz 800 MHz FSB w/ HyperThreading -> Works with SSE2 patches, HT enabled flawlessly 1 Gb Ram HDD 60 GB 7200 rpm -> Udma works SiS 7012 Audio -> Audio works SiS 900 Ethernet -> Waiting for kexts Broadcom WiFi -> WiFi Works Display: 1400x1050 15" -> Full resolution support with Callisto 005 Video card: Ati Mobility Radeon 9600 (DevID 4e50) -> Here lies the problem... OS: Dual Boot WinXP / Mac OS X 10.4.5 by Myzar I've tried all Callisto builds, only 005 gives me correct resolution change but neither QE nor CI (nor OGL) wants to work. If I try to boot with "original" 10.4.4 Ati9700 kext (just right after the Mac OS installation) I get a black screen as soon as loginwindow starts loading... If I delete all Ati kexts, I think the problem is the Ati9700GA.bundle, everything starts working correctly but I have this situation: So I get two displays and two videocards recognized, and I get a fake dualview (one card is AGP, the other is PCI, this situation doesn't occur during the OS install routine!!!)... If I enable "mirroring" I get severe tearing, but I haven't QE/CI enabled, and I'm using the Vesa Framebuffer!!! With mirroring off I get problems when dragging windows from left to right, everything I drag to the right side of the screen reappears on the left screen. I've partially solved this by dropping the second fake screen to the upper right corner of the screen in the display preferences pane, you rarely need to drag an icon or a windows through the top right corner of the screen! So, can anybody help me? I'd really appreciate some help... thanks!!!
SaxMachine
Man, I have the same problem. I have tried all but not work. If we succeed not to make to recognize card Pci perhaps it could work! madmaniac
arff get a black screen on boot with your method ! I have an ati mobility radeon 9700 64mb (same device id as mobility 9600) tried whith JaS 10.4.8 dvd + callisto 006 (work)+ AGPGart 2.2(work) also I don't have any ATIRadeonGA.plugin help !!!! I have the same problem, I can't give you the answer, but I can point out the methodology to get it working. 1. Remove all ATIRadeon9700 and ATIRadeon.kext files from the Extensions folder, and clear Extensions caches 2. Install Callisto 005 (it seems this version is the only one with confirmed success for ID 4E50 3. If it is still not working, the it is a no go. 4. If it is working now, then add AGPGart Lite 5. If the card is identified as AGP card, then fine, otherwise try AGPGart 2.x 6. If it is still not identified as AGP card, you might continue anyway, but there is less chance of success. 7. Now, add ATI9700 kext + plugin from 10.4.5 (no other version), and possibly ATIRadeon.kext from 10.4.5. Edit them according to the posts above before deploying. 8. If working, great, otherwise do the same thing with 10.4.4 kexts instead 9. If working, great, otherwise do the same thing with 10.4.3 kexts instead 10. If still not working, repeat WITHOUT AGPGart 11. If it is working, try to add the rest of the ATI9700 files from 10.4.8. If it breaks, remove them. Let me know how far you can get using this procedure.

simkard
Finally, does someone managed to get the ATI Radeon 9600/9700/... to work with Leopard ? I have a laptop which includes an ATI Radeon Mobility 9700 with 128Mb dedicated and i was hoping to get it to work with Leopard but all i read until now was that the kexts was only PPC binaries so no hope to see this type of card working someday. Do someone managed to get the famous QE and CI with theses cards with Leopard ?
