Stupidly formatted the bootloader partition :(

after a successful Lion Installation via X-Move... I stupidly formatted the Snow Leopard partition with the bool loader on it. Now I am not able to boot into Lion anymore. On another drive I have Windows 7 installed and can boot into it via the mainboard boot menu.

First: I've no USB Stick > 4GB and no external Harddrive for a new SL install.

Second: I've no SATA DVD-Drive (ATA only)

Third: No, real Mac with Mac Driveutility available.

Question: Is there a way to install chameleon and chimera via Windows 7?

I tried to boot from a new ##### dvd but the computer restarts after the apple logo :thumbsup_anim:

EDIT: I still have the X-Move Installer partition available.. but cannot boot into the install programm, maybe because the old partition which contained SL was formatted ^^

but how can I manually install chameleon and chimera via macdrive?

Another option would be to boot into the install dvd (SL) and use the diskutility and restore my SL partition image, to install chimera via ##### ^^ but no way, so far :thumbsup_anim:

unfortunately not.. Built 1000 of Chameleon doesn't work. Installation not possible. So I've tried an older Version and the install worked, but I always get the error that the Avldr.bin was not found or is corrupt. So I tried all Version form the post.. but it does still not work :thumbsup_anim:

I'am wondering why the new ##### DVD cause a restart.. I had already the new chimera on my old SL System O_o and it worked like a charm

Try booting into the ##### CD then type

"arch=i386 mach_kernel -v"

(without quotes) let me know how it goes

##### does not work with Lion installer.

There is nothing you can do except to install all over again. SL > 10.6.8 Combo > Lion

The same thing happened to me.

If you can get a friends Mac, you can actually make a USB boot drive (you don't need a big USB, a 64MB one will suffice, hell, you could do it with a 16MB one if you needed to). Simply get the Chimera package, and select the USB as the destination. It's actually the way I made a Lion Installer USB  Just letting you know, be extra careful not to select the Mac's HD as the destination. Chimera will render the Mac unbootable.

bought today a 16GB USB3.0 Stick, but unfortunately it is not recognized by the chimera boot loader (no choice in menu). I've restored (via the disc utility of my sisters mac) the SL Install DVD on the new USB stick... :)

Make sure it's formatted as Mac OS Extended and it has a GUID partition table.

No, it doesn't work ;)

It's formatted as HFS+. I've created an dmg Image of my SL DVD and restored it onto my stick (via diskutility).

Where can I get the chimera package?
