I have a system that's been running snow leopard perfectly. I installed lion and everything worked, except I can't get it to recognize my displays - so it leaves me stuck in 1024 x 768 on my primary display and doesn't even recognize my secondary display. My primary display is a BenQ 24" monitor and my secondary is a dell 20" monitor.

Using Graphics Enabler=yes, it is recognizing my graphics card as an Nvidia 8800 GT w/ 512 MB.

Here is all my log entries list which have NVDA in the text-

7/21/11 7:04:25.195 AM com.apple.kextd: /System/Library/Extensions/NVDANV50Hal.kext - no dependency found for com.apple.NVDAResman.

7/21/11 7:04:25.196 AM com.apple.kextd: Can't load /System/Library/Extensions/NVDANV50Hal.kext - failed to resolve dependencies.

7/21/11 7:04:30.948 AM com.apple.kextd: /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce.kext - no dependency found for com.apple.NVDAResman.

7/21/11 7:04:32.000 AM kernel: NVDA,Display-B: Not usable

And here they are that have Geforce in the text -

7/21/11 7:04:30.948 AM com.apple.kextd: /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce.kext - no dependency found for com.apple.NVDAResman.

7/21/11 7:04:30.950 AM com.apple.kextd: Can't load /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce.kext - failed to resolve dependencies.

7/21/11 7:04:30.952 AM com.apple.kextd: Load com.apple.GeForce failed; removing personalities from kernel.

7/21/11 7:14:26.495 AM com.apple.kextcache: GeForce.kext - no dependency found for com.apple.NVDAResman.

7/21/11 7:14:26.496 AM com.apple.kextcache: GeForce.kext is missing dependencies (including anyway; dependencies may be available from elsewhere)

7/21/11 7:14:27.656 AM com.apple.kextcache: GeForce.kext - no dependency found for com.apple.NVDAResman.

7/21/11 7:14:31.143 AM com.apple.kextcache: GeForce.kext - no dependency found for com.apple.NVDAResman.

7/21/11 7:14:31.144 AM com.apple.kextcache: Prelink failed for com.apple.GeForce; omitting from prelinked kernel.

I can force a resolution on my primary display by putting it in my com.apple.Boot.plist in extras, but no matter what I can't do anything with my second monitor.

I've tried everything I've found using various searches here including using nvenabler; using EFI strings; and deleting GeForce7xxx and NVDAResmanG7xxx from S/L/E. Nothing worked.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated

I get the same thing. I have everything working after upgrading from Snow leopard to Lion except for my video card which is NVidia 8600 GTS. It will not detect my card using EFI.

If anybody got their nvidia card to detect both DVI displays especially using EFI please let us know how you achieved it.

Thanks!
