Well, as a follow up to my problem. Somehow pulling out all the hard drives other than the one I was installing to fixed the issue :(

I don't know if it was my Time Machine or Windows drive but oh well

Installing Kakewalk went fine. Got graphics enabled as per instructions. I got sound and network working using ##### so it's not quite an all in one solution but pretty damn good! THANK YOU!! :)

Installed Lion with Kakewalk 4 and all works fine with a few work arounds.

- I did not do a fresh install as per the PDF instructions. Rather I let the Lion USB installation update the SL installation.

- Upon completion and after running Kakewalk 4 on my HDD, my dual display reverted to single display. I copied the SL DSDT.aml file from /Extras to the Lion install and restarted. Both my displays now work fine again.

Overall, took about the best of two hours to get it up and running. It seems a little bit faster but it could be just my imagination.

Everything works except for Facetime.. which oddly says it cannot register. This seems to be a common problem if I google it.

I don't have sound and Ethernet working at the moment, and whenever I attempt to use ##### my computer kernel panics. You experience anything similar?

Hi and thanks for this nice app.

I see on working mob's page that this works on ep45-ds3l.

Does it works on ep45c-ds3r too I think... right?

thanks again

Nope worked fine for me. However ##### is just a big collection of kexts, maybe you could dive in and extract the kexts you need and install them manually? :P

Heh, after I wrote that I decided to try a few things – I do have sound and Ethernet working now, though I used VoodooHDA for sound and so far it's given me one kernel panic on boot. Otherwise seems to be working pretty well.

I'm on Lion OSX with EP45C-DS3R.

Everything work fine.

Just follow the kakewalk instructions by choosing "EP45-DS3L" form the menu of Kakewalk.

Cheers.

Then let me know for DSDT and Audio problem and I'll try to help.

@ mrjanek

worked for me, but:

the HDs shown as ' external ( Orange )' during install.

IMO ' IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext ' should solve this.

i have modified ' DSDT ', ' com.Apple.boot.plist etc... and i add this to the Stick, but after install Kakewalk.app, it's overwriting all the stuff !

and the ' npci=0×2000 ' Kernel Flag is set by default; is there any harm, because i don't need this flag ?

is it possible that Kakewalk asks the User for adding modified stuff to the Stick?

thx for Kakewalk anyway

DSDT.rar Hi all again

@Dam

As I asked in this post too: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...d=1722478

Do you think SL's dsdt could fit fine?

Or need to create a new one with dsdt_autopatcher?

Are you using 5.1 audio or so? If yes, with digital cable or normal one?

Thanks in advance and I'll let you know asap.

I got to decide how to move at this point

Cheers

p.s i've just discovered we had some writing in 2009 for OS 10.5 audio stuffs :D

No one any idea how to move on with my installation ?

I restarted after Kakewalk 4 installation on HD i see the new loader on screen and stuck to the apple ...

When i start -v in verbose i can it is stuck on pci configuration begin ;)

please help

I was unable to get the kakewalk installed properly, but if you put ##### 3.8 on your USB, then you can use that to install all the necessary post install items to get a boot into the system from the HD. Make sure you tick on/off the relevant items and then install. It worked for me. Do not install Kakewalk after you configure your system. Drag ##### to your desktop and use that.

Hi Komodo_1,

Nice too read you again ^^, how are you? :P

So:

1. Use DSDT Auto-Patcher to create the DSDT, put it in Extra.

2. Use IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector to solve the Orange HD Icons.

3. If you use NVIDIA 8XXX/9XXX series, remove AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext form S/L/E or just backup it

(For some strange mouse lag behaviors) and use <key>GraphicsEnabler</key><string>Yes</string>

in the com.apple.Boot.plist

AUDIO (I use the normal audio, not 5,1 - maybe you could try)

Just put ALC885_889a.kext in E/E and then foliow the instructions

inside the Readme file.

ALC889a -> ALC889a.zip

That's all.

Let me know if you have any problems.

D.

Is there anything i need to do before installing this next to a windows 7 install on a seperate drive that is already running on my PC?

Should i disconnect that drive while installing this? I have not done any hackintosh stuff in a couple years. I ran Ideneb pretty flawlessly though on my system for awhile!

Yes, it's always the safe option ;)

I am having this same problem as well. Any advice an how to correct it? Thanks.

mrjanek, Im having an issue where I cannot create the kakewalk 4 usb boot. Im getting the following error "Could not rename drive. Make sure you no other volumes named 'Mac OSX Base System' are mounted" The install basically fails at this point. I have tried repeating it again by re-formatting my usb stick first and changing the name to something simple such as lion or kakewalk.

Another user named MadNachos in your discussion forum on your website is also reporting the same issue.

Any advise? I can upload the log when I return home this evening.

Thanks. Doug

(p.s my system has been rock solid based on your earlier kakewalk install). Im curious how to you handle upgrades from a system running an older kakewalk install with an older chameleon ? Do you replace the boot loaded and keep the users dst files? or replace both?

Just type at the boot prompt: -v -x PCIRootUID=1 npci=0x2000

After Installation Edit the com.apple.boot.plist and add to the Kernel Flags String: arch=i386 npci=0x2000
