I was wondering what tools would I need to check to see if my DSDT is edited properly for native speedstep and power management. My laptop gets really hot and I get less than 2 hours battery time on a machine that usually gets 5+ hours on windows. On Loading, AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement says it's ready. My CPU Busclk is at 300, I don't know if that is good or bad. Please help me resolve this issue, and If you need my DSDT I can post it. I have a Samsung QX410-J01 running Lion x64 with Intel Core i5-460M. That chip has busratio=19.

I also wanted to mention that I have some pictures that confused me. I will also post my boot.plist and dsdt. Thank you in advance! ;)

your machine is hot because of AppleIntelCpu. And obviously it isn't working for you otherwise you would not have kernel panics.

the kernel panic screenshot is weired.

AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement caused a KP. But why does it read lines that say null pointer reference in I386 ??

Lion / OSX kernel 11.0 is 64bit only. Is your AppleIntelCPU.kext really the one from Lion or a older one from SL ?

In any case : Using Nullcpupowermanagement.kext ( to be found all on the net ) will automatic disable AppleIntelCPU and will also lower the temperature and does not depend on a dsdt, so I would say that's the safest thing.

Dealing with DSDT is expert stuff, you can even do more worse if you "fix" it so that OSX will go crazy when it worked fine without one ( or with just a basic one created by generic dsdt patchers ) ..

I have 1 hour 20 mins battery life in OSX with Nullcpu. The machine is now 1,5 yrs old and the original battery life in Vista was only 2 hours some minutes, not even 2,5 hours.

Toshiba has shipped the cheapest battery with this, naturally it is not suitable for long runs.

After all I have a Macbook Pro clone, so I am not worried .. use it on my desk all the time and if I take it with me I carry the power adapter with me. Of course it is not really suitable for sitting on a park bench over long periods, just checking mails or so.

Yeah, I am using the AppleIntelCPU everything all from Lion. My laptop usually gets 5+ Hours on Windows 7. I know it gets great battery life. But the problem is, I think the Turbo boost and or speedstep settings are wrong. So it is staying at the highest clock speed all the time. Even though programs don't need that power. That Kernel Panic was when I added sleepenabler.kext, After that KP I removed it and it booted fine. But it still has issues with power and speed management. I would like to learn how to edit my DSDT to fix this problem, or have someone else patch it for me. Which ever way works best. I am very close to a perfect laptop mac build. All I need to worry about is this problem, sleep and Video. Sleep may be related to this problem, because my laptop does not go to sleep either. I have the nVidia Optimus Powered Intel HD Graphics + nVidia Geforce 310M 512MB dedicated card. I cannot seem to get it to work, but I think a lot of people have that issue. There is yet to be a fix for my video card, I can live with that. However I think I can repair the sleep and power issue. Thank you in advance.
