seninha
After finishing my Desktop OSX project a few months ago I wanted to have something more portable That is why I bought me a second hand (could also be fourth , who knows) IBM T41 14" laptop. After trying different distro's I manage to have a working system thanks to iPC 10.5.6 Had only a problem with my wifi (intel) but after changing that one for a Broadcom, that problem is also solved. But still one thing is not working, and that is the onboard ATI mobile 7500. Yesterday I tried to ge it work by using next how-to: How to get QE enabled on T42 2378 mobility radeon 7500 Unfortunately I ended with a system that keeps rebooting after log in. Today I started again to search the web how to get this to work, and on the same topic (above link) I found the solution: update it to 10.5.8 an make ati 7500 full workly. I' ve make it and all work good! That is why I want to update to 10.5.8.But before I do this I need to know If my system will be able to use 10.5.8? This is what I use to install OSX 10.5.6 on my system: (taken form wiki.osx86project.com. Thanks for that) ThinkPad T40/T41 (2373) iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Base System Kernels: 9.5.0 Voodoo Kernel Video Drivers -> Intel GMA950 Audio Drivers -> AD1980 Ethernet Drivers -> Intel PRO 100/VE Wifi:Updated hardware to FRU P/N 39T0071->IO80211family.kext(10.4) Chipset Drivers -> LegacyAppleIntelPIIXATA drivers USB Drivers -> Patched USB Drivers Power Management Fixes and patched: Seatbelt.kext 10.5.5 PS/2 Keyboard fix ApleSMBIOS ToH ACPI Fix CPUS=1 One Core Fix Finder 10.5.5 + Keyboard.prefPane IntelCPUPMDisabler . seninha
Manage to upgrade to 10.5.8 without any problem/ This how I did it: -Downloaded 10.5.8 combo and install it. -restart the system using the iPC 10.5.6 DVD and choose all needed kext plus Voodoo kernel Afte this was done I was able to start my system and see that OSX as been upgraded to 10.5.8 Only having a couple of things not working. -mobile 7500 -sleep and battery meter. When OSX is loaded and desktop comes up I can see the Battery Meter for a second on the top bar but it dissapear to never come back. No idea why. Already tried VooDooBattery but that did not work. Also tried Voodoopower for Sleep but again no luck. And last, I wonder if I could use my touchpad to scroll without using the mouse button, Just by placing my finger on the right side of the pad and scroll up or down. The same way I can do in Windows XP

seninha
Good to see you up and running. I have the same machine and I have been having probs with certain distros. Haven't tried this one yet but is in the process of dl'ing now. Of all the things i tried iPC was the only one who was able to let me install OSX. About the T41, i passed that on to my brother so I could concentrate on next project, that is a HP 6710b. At this moment I manage to install 10.7 Still having a few issues, but still very happy with this upgrade
