Hey,

So after doing much searching on many great fourms like this one and watching many youtube videos I managed to get 10.6.6i (by Hazzard) on my Asus G50V-X1.

Okay so first things first, get yourself a copy of Mac OSx 10.6.6i by Hazzard. And burn the image to a DVD. Now I installed this to an external HDD, so if you going to install this on your HDD, please back up your data! =D

- Boot your computer via the DVD and Chameleon boot loader will start up. Choose to install 10.6.6i

by Hazzard

- The mac (grey) screen with the apple logo will show up. Don't panic if it seems to linger on that

screen for a while. It takes about 5-10 mins on mine to load up.

- So you'll get to the install screens, license agreements, standard stuff.

- When you get to where to install Mac OSx, open Disk Utilities via Utitilies => Disk Utilities.

- Click the main drive where you'd like to install Mac OSx and click erase. Erase the HDD format is

irrelevant as you will change it on the "Partitions" tab later.

- Now I used an external HDD so I didn't create 2 partitions, So I just picked 1 partition and the

format for that is "Mac os Extended Journaled".

- But if you intend on installing, Windows later: Make two partitions and 1st one's format will Mac

OS extended journaled and the 2nd one will be "Free Space" PS: I will not be covering

installing Windows on the other drive partition.

- After making your partiton(s), close Disk Utilities and you'll go back to the Where to Install Mac

OSx.

- Click on Customize/Options on the screen. And another screen with drivers/kexts options you'd

like to be installed.

- This is usually the hardest part because I did this 6 times before I got the right combination of

drivers/kexts.

- Right so if you are using the same or similar notebook as mine, select the following kexts:

1. Chameleon RC5

2. Graphics enabler (found in Bootloader options)

3. Voodoo (Battery + PS2 trackpard +Power + HDA 2.7.2 with Prefpane *important*)

4. USB Fix

*And nothing else*

If this part is not clear to you I suggest watching the guide by Wixdfast2 on youtube, he's got a

step by step video

Such a shortlist you ask? Well yes. You will find out that the wi-fi, camera and the rest will take

care of itself... =D

And if these don't work for you then don't worry try a differen't combination after looking up your

Hardware. Like I said before I did all of this 6 times before I got the right combination.

- After picking your kexts click done and you'll go back to the previous screen and click Install.

- The Installation says it will take 15min, in reality it will be around 20min

- After the installation is complete, your computer will restart. If you've set you computer to boot

via the CD/DVD drive you'll need to eject your DVD when the screeen goes black using a pin via

the manual eject.

- As I said before I installed this to an external HDD so I boot up via that after I hit the Esc key.

- Hopefully If you don't get a kernel panic, you'll be greeted by the Mac OSx welcome video and

and a heavy metal song!

- Go through the set-up screens, I was quite surprised to find my camera and wi-fi working

without having picked drivers for those, hopefully it will be the same for you!

You might find that your notebook's internal microphone is one and will not switchoff even if you lower the input level via Sounds in System preferences.

But now that you installed VoodooHDA with prefpane, we can adjust the input gain of the internal microphone.

So, there you have it! Good luck, if you got any questions shout. I'm no expert but I learned a few things through trial and error =D
