Hi guys,

This is meant as both a guide and a request for help, since I got a successful Snow Leopard install, but still working on getting full functionality of the system. I'm working with Touchsmart 610t-1110 CTO PC dual boot with Win 7

specs:

core i3-2100/intel HD 3000

hp inglewood motherboard with Intel A57 chipset

IDT high def integrated sound

1 TB hitachi HDD

6 GB RAM/DDR3 1333

Realtek gigabit ethernet card

Ralink wifi

What I did:

1) Took out 2 gigs of RAM, booted with iBootLegacy (see tonymacx86 forums)

2) Followed tonymacx86 instructions for installing dual-boot os x and win 7 (http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2009/11/dual-boot-windows-7-and-os-x-snow.html)

note: I didn't get the Win7 recovery DVD, so I used another OEM DVD that had same version of windows, but I recomend you try to backup the HP recovery partition if you have an external hard drive handy or burn recovery DVDs from windows;

3) Installed 10.6.0 retail Snow Leopard

4) After reboot installed combo update 10.6.7, without restarting installed BridgeHelper 2.1 and ##### (#####, SystemUtitlities and OSX86 utilities)

note: I tried 10.6.8 update twice, since it's supposed to have native support of SandyBridge, but it gave me kernel panics, so I reverted to 10.6.7+BridgeHelper instead

5) After reboot set edited com.apple.Boot.plist:

<key>Kernel Flags</key>

<string>arch=i386 -force64</string>

<key>Graphics Mode</key>

<string>1920x1080</string>

Installed Realtek driver from #####

6) Shut down, put back the 2GB of ram.

Now I have:

CPU recognized as Core i3;

RAM recognized as 1333GHz DDR3 6GB

Ethernet/wired networking works

Screen is in full HD resolution

What doesn't work:

- Sound (I've seen a post here from 2009/10 about a successful IDT kext based off of AppleHDA - any updates to that?)

- Video (I'm looking for Kyle_C's intel 3000 kexts - can't seem to find them, only posts mentioning them)

any help would be much appreciated.

Here are the kexts i use to get IDT sound working on my HP hackbintosh laptop 10.6.7 and Lion. I put all 3, but you can experiment.

I know it's been almost 2 months since your thread, but hey I just saw it, maybe you can use it.

thanks, ladiciuus. I haven't tried your kexts, but got sound working couple weeks ago w/ latest VoodooHDA.

However, with Lion release and TonyMac/MacMan's Chimera update it looks like only Intel HD 3000 graphics are supported by Apple and HD 2000 is out of luck. For this reason, I'm personally giving up on making this machine into a Hackintosh, but whoever is willing to go an extra mile, either purchase a version with a dedicated graphics card OR buy the i5 2500k w/ intel HD 3000 (i don't believe HP gives you an option for this though, so got to go with Newegg and install it yourself).

Touchsmart 610 series looks like it would be the perfect iMac hackintosh, almost everything working great except video exceleration (on Lion or Snow), just needed "busratio=24" for the i5 650 that came with mine. I took the option of the 1gb ATI 5570 mobility thinking i might be able to get it running. Closest I could find is the 3 kexts from lion (ATIframebuffer, ati5000controller, & atisupport kexts) with the device id in the ati5000controller kext. Gives full resolution & shows up in profiler as HD 5000 but no qe ci it seems. When it seemed to choose the wrong framebuffer I put "AtiConfig=Eulemur" in newest chameleon 2.0 final & all was well (aside from qe ci of course).

Any attempt to use the .rom bios extracted "using with chameleon" seems to lock up immediately at the bootloader for some reason.

Was thinking of swapping it out with the Geforce 425m (other option from hp) but doesn't look good from what I read with that card either. If someone was able to get either of these cards going this would be a real nice imac alternative.
