xtraa
Hi, I came to this hint by hanging at 'waiting for dsmos' later 'dsmos has arrived' and the pci configuration error. Directly after installation, my hack booted in the setup. Then, after replacing two files, and revert it, it hung with the *exact* same configuration. First I thought it was the cache, but after reading all the tutorials I noticed that they were *all* missing a maybe very important step. So just to be sure: After you recovered the base system to your USB device, make sure to 1. right click on the usb volume and click on 'get info...' 2. scroll down, unlock 3. uncheck the 'ignore ownership on this volume' The problem was that when I replaced my IOPCI and AppleACPI for example, repairing permissions on these files (chmod and chown) had no effect. Thus they probably didn't load correctly or at all. So if you have a USB boot volume for installation and you are stucked with the DSMOS error, you may consider to set up the stick again but this time you uncheck the box *before* editing anything. It may or it may not fix the problem immediately, but at least you have one potential error source less. Don't underestimate the power of permissions
