vmaraccini
Hello friends! I just managed to install OSX Lion GM on my desktop, but am still struggling with getting both of my monitors to work. I'm currently using the Exotic patch from netkas for the GM (http://netkas.org/?m=201107) And it's been working great! I get full QE/CI with it, but only one monitor out. Some time ago I tried the 10.6.3 patch, and there both my monitors worked! But I had no acceleration :/ Is there something I can do? Thanks!! vmaraccini
Both are DVI ports. I have the AMD (or ATI, at the time) branded card. I suppose this is the card's BIOS: http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/36265/A...024.080923.html GPU Device Id: 0x1002 0x9441 113-B50902-102 R700 B50902 128K MASTER BIOS © 1988-2005, ATI Technologies Inc. vmaraccini
Also, would you happen to know any way of manually setting the fan speed for this card? It's running quite hot in there, and since QE is actually using the card all the time, it might be a good idea to keep it cool. I have to use it when on windows otherwise it will get to 100 C pretty fast
TH3L4UGH1NGM4N
the only thing that I've come across with the dual monitors is this post but the guy doesn't have QE working http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversi...t160258-50.html And also about the manual fan settings I've been looking for a way to do that for ages I once found I way but that was back in leopard I'll see if I come across the files on my comp that I used to do it. On the monitor situation though, when you plug in a second monitor does the 1st one go into a no signal state or is the second monitor not being picked up. And also, are all ports working on your card? (in os x that is)
vmaraccini
Both my monitors are connected right now, but only one works. OSX shows me a second monitor, 800x600x32 even if there is nothing connected to the port. It's like a dummy monitor.... My card only has these 2 DVI ports, so that's about it. I'll try using the HDMI adapter and see if I can get sound out of there (doubt it). About the link you posted, It does the same thing as that 10.6.3 patch I was using.. No QE/CI, but both monitors working. But thanks anyway! Do you think there is any way to mod a .plist or anything of that sort to make it recognize the other port, or even disable the second monitor? It's annoying to lose the mouse when it goes to the other monitor
vmaraccini
Yep, the HDMI adapter works, but no sound out of it.. At least not with the VoodooHDA. I'm getting some clicks and pops from it while playing certain audio formats with certain programs (IE, AAC seems to bug with Quicktime, but not other players). Also, if I connect a microphone, it's like it was being amplified and only noise comes out of it. Although I can recognize some of the sound produced, it's far from good. vmaraccini
SOOO, thanks to genesiswu, I was able to conect both of my monitors by using the graphicsEnabler functionality from chameleon.. Great work!! So the way to go is: Netkas' exotic pack + GraphicsEnabler=yes upon boot, or <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>YES</key> into your com.apple.boot.plist Thank you guys!
