Hameer Abbasi
Hello. I have two questions: 1. Is it possible to install OSX Lion without affecting Windows on an MBR disk? and 2. Before, a OSX Snow Leopard install frequently messed up my Windows installs. Some way to avoid this please? Thanks in advance Oh, and any tips thrown in about Ubuntu as a third OS would be welcome, too. EDIT: I don't have OSX installed now.
Gujal
Windows will have startup issues after installing an other OS. All you have to do is boot with Windows CD/DVD and select Repair which will fix the startup issue.
Hameer Abbasi
Thanks. What about the second question? Install Lion on MBR without an existing install?
Rackers
Are you talking about installing Mac on an MBR drive without having to re-format said drive to GUID?
creezalird
Thanks. What about the second question? Install Lion on MBR without an existing install? hope this helps : Nawcom - MBR Install Lion
Hameer Abbasi
@creezalird Umm, I said: without an existing install Are you talking about installing Mac on an MBR drive without having to re-format said drive to GUID? Exactly. But through Windows. EDIT: The Nawcom method might just work, I just need a DMG editor for Windows, and I need to know where to put the files inside the archives. There are no folders that exactly match those on the GM app's contents or the main dmg (\Contents\SharedSupport\InstallESD.dmg), or the biggest dmg inside that (InstallMacOSX.pkg\InstallESD.dmg) Thanks. PS. I'm using 7-Zip, it opens the files, extracts them, but can't edit them.
