Animation performance

This might be hardware related, but in SL everything was fine. I have a 8600GT 512MB, which is great for what I do with it. I notice some animations are not always as smooth as they should be. The scrolling for example can be lacky, the animations in the Twitter applications aren't always that smooth and there are other little things that are not as smooth as it should be.

Anyone else noticed this? And would a new videocard solve the problem, or is this software related? Noticed some people with iMacs had the same problems as well.

me on the other hand experiencing opposite problem.
in SL i have glitches with animation (when opening stacks, folders, and sometime when scrolling on safari, etc..)
now the VERY VERY Strange thing is, on lion, it not just that it very FAST for my card (220GT)
when doing CineBench, i can actually SEE the animation going WAY FASTER then in SL,and i still get same FPS
